I was never a fan, but I am sorry for her family and friends.
She was a train wreck waiting to happen and unable or unwilling to help herself, so this is not unexpected. Maybe she will find more peace now than she did while she lived. RIP.

Sad news. I hope this makes some people who are alcoholics or addicted to drugs get help in realization that they are heading down the same road.

If only the people around her, forced her to make better decisions so she could have got actual help for her problems. Maybe she wouldn't be dead.

she seems to me like someone who does hipster-esque wax-museum imitations of great songs and styles, and with an annoying voice and persona

why would i want to hear her singing "Cupid" or some other soul song, when I could hear Sam Cooke do it the real and awesome way? Why would I want to hear her singing imitation Motown songs when I could just listen to real Motown songs?
