Being a father of 2 little ones, i would have asked Jeter and the Yanks organization to pay for my childrens education. How can they be mad at you for this, put the money in a 529 college savings account where only the kids can touch the money when they apply for colleges they desire. How can the world be mad at you! He would have to put it in a safe deposit box to keep the theives from getting it but it is a piece of memorabilia I would like to have as a baseball fan. 5 or 10 years from now when the ball is no longer a big deal, he could keep it on display in his home.
