The problem some people have with the females here is that they are "attention whores", and I actually beleive that in most cases. Hon, we tried starting threads for fun. Yeah, this is a gambling forum, but plenty of the menfolk here start off-topic discussions. Perhaps we'd partake in sports talk a bit more if we weren't made to feel like "stupid women" every time we did. I don't want to get off track here, but I have seen this argument brought up time and time again over here. Question for you though. Do the women in your life get upset about it because you are compulsive? Do you care more about gambling than anything else in your life? Do you lie to her about it and use money from your savings or 401K to appease your fix? If you answered "yes" to any of the above, THAT'S the reason she gave you the ultimatum. I think that's what some of you don't understand. I personally do not mind that my husband gambles, but the minute it turns into a problem, I will have a problem. I paid my own way through university and for those 4 years I didn't gamble strictly because I couldn't afford the loss. Now the woman in question has this "moral" thing about gambling and didn't want to associate with a man who was going to go to Hell.

And there is no Amen's coming as I would have a lot larger pot if it weren't for the women.

Well, if T is a good guy, perhaps he should take a look around before making accusations against the women. Prove to me that men around here aren't guilty of any of these things:

1. Off-Topic Threads
2. Getting off topic within threads
3. Making statements/starting threads simply to get a reaction

Did you even read the thread? It was started to explain why some of the women are not posting here. What is so difficult to understand...and why is it ok for other posters who do not have a vagina to start threads that escalate in the same manner? Your logic isn't adding up.

Anyway, go back and look at some of the threads the women start. THE ONLY REASON they escalate is due to the fact that the Captain Caveman Crew jumps in to purposely instigate trouble. If the other women feed into it, that's their problem. I usually tend to walk away because there is no sense fighting an idiot on the internets.

Richie doesn't have a problem with me at all. He actually apologized for lumping me in with the other ladies as I have not posted over at EOG. Either way, I still think it's silly to be upset about anyone posting anywhere.

As far as the guys starting threads that are off-topic and what not. Sure we do. But we also supply the majority of the gambling threads, handicapping threads, and tournament threads. So it kinda gives a release from just talking non stop sports for 24 hours. I don't think there is problem with off-topic threads...its just when they really start veering off into a different direction and become unenjoyable to read is when people have problems.

I don't quite garner the same accolades as some of the other posters here. You'll never see me on any of the "top capper" lists here, but I don't think that's because I'm female, and I certainly never feel any kind of negative pressure regarding my sports-related posts or opinions at all.

Im not going to judge anyone. I like swede and the rest of the girls ... but yes, in a forum where theres so much egos (like I care) it does reflect the opposite of some others real life. Some get attention online, while in real life they only have a pet dog as a friend. Sucks but its true.

If you prefer on topic conversations, stay out of the Players Talk area. When I started posting here back in (March, I believe it was), I was in freaking AWE that people were complaining about off topic threads. Now I can understand the gripe if the thread is placed in the wrong forum. But come on now. This off-topic argument isn't even valid, nor has it ever been.

This is very true. But you do have to admit (and you have been an infractor in the past) that a good chunk of the men here are pretty nasty to some of the ladies. Could you break it down so that it is eay for me to understand. I am a simple caveman type with only a rudimentary understanding of how things operate. Wrongo. I have never wantred "more" or Shams, moneyline or the likes. I guess I can see how you would think that, but I just have a hard time walking away from someone personally attacking me. Furthermore, I didn't "fall for it every time". The times that I did e-walk away, they just followed me into the next thread. Go back and look. It's the truth.

No one ever asked. There are plenty of people on here who have screen names that aren't gender-related, and also don't have pictures of themselves as their avatars. Maybe they're all men, maybe not. Maybe they're all women, who knows. It never mattered to me one way or the other.

Now on Match.com, it would be a different story entirely. There, you can't just have some ambiguous screen name and not tell people what your gender is.
