Astros are suppposed to suck. The team is young, and is rebuilding.

Cubs pay Ramirez, Zambrano, and Soriano the equivalent of the Pirates payroll. Cubs are out of the playoff race, and the Pirates are competing.

Back to the Astros... they are rebuilding and exist for us to bet against.

they don't have shit in the farm system. they don't have big league club assets to trade for prospects. they are in bad, bad shape for many years. i never understood why they fired jim hickey who was the pitching coach who got brandon backey pitching like a number 3.
hickey is now the pitching coach for the rays who are developing pitchers so well it's insane. they have so many pitching assets they trade them away to make room for the younger ones.
