I'm a long time Astro fan. This team, other than Pence and Bourn, looks like they have totally quit on their manager, Mills. They have no discipline at the plate, their defense is God awful, and don't even get me started on the bullpen. This team was playing a lot harder and looser when Bagwell was the hitting coach last year. I really believe if he had stayed, this team would be more competitive than they are now. Hopefully the new owner, Crane, will pump some life into this franchise, and make them competitive again 4-5 years down the road.Comment -

Houston has been one of the most successful MLB clubs in the last 15 years. I would say top 7 at least in overall success.

The Astros' depleted their farm system over the past 15 years or so by signing big name free agents while in the playoff hunt.
They fired Gerry Hunsicker, which was a huge mistake. The owner refused to spend money the last few years signing draft picks.Comment -
