One of the common requests from players (as seen above) was to make it less like a crap-shoot. That's accomplished by raising the blind time slightly. All tournaments are still finishing within an hour anyways.

Those common requests you referred to were mostly talking about the qualifiers.

Whatever the case, the ryder tournaments should to some extent try to be similar to the qualifiers and having 4 people play 10/15 for 10 minute, 15/25 for 10 minutes (and of course with only 4 players that means far more hands per player at low blinds) is very, very different from the qualifiers.

IMO, if you want the best players for the final tournaments then it makes more sense to try and make them similar to the extent possible to the qualifiers. Just my two cents.
