In my opinion, the belts would make them look like clowns and go against the notion everyone has that this is a classy team and organization. The RING is the symbol of a sports Championship. It is traditional, it's what players chase. If they wanted to have some sort of joke belts that was a locker room thing/an inside joke sort of thing, that's one thing and it'd be an inside team thing ... but to get them in an actual ceremony would be the corniest shit I have ever seen. I honestly don't see how the guys who are on the Mavs would think it was cool. The dipshit fans would eat it up of course, but they also think a f-ing claw and antlers are awesome.

I see what you're saying but i don't agree with you man. A ring is whatever. It's been done 40 times and no matter how much you spend on it, no one is going to pay any attention. A belt though is going to be remembered forever. I mean, imagine being Jason Terry in 10 years doing commentary for TNT games. Instead of wearing his ring, he sits a $50,000 championship belt on the desk in front of him while he does the post game. That's bad, i don't care what anyone says.
Next year, the Mavs could wear their championship belts during the pregame introductions of a big playoff game. That would send a message and definitely **** with some heads.

And Jordan would of wore it. I think this is an excellent statement that Cuban is making. He loves his team. When you love something you'll do anything for that person. Cuban doesn't care what people think... if he did... he wouldn't be in the league. He's a unique style of owner. If anything... the crowns are queer. So if Cuban is thinking that... then that's the problem. There's nothing wrong with a championship belt. You know damn well Lebron and D-Wade would of wore them together... like Batman and Robin.
