if you gamble, rent. own one and watch a tornado sweep it away and battle with insurance company to get 40% of value back if you're lucky...no yard to take care of is huge..no taxes to pay big...no maintenance worries, no rodent infestation problems to solve (that you have to pay for). too many headaches with ownership. and if you work you only get to spend a few hours a day awake in the house that you bought. say you get home at 5:45 eat dinner till 6:30 pick games till 6:55. watch games till 11:00. then it's bedtime so you can get up to go to a job to make money to pay for all this...on weekends you have to mow lawn or something else always needed to do..why bother just rent studio apt over downtown buildings and forget about the american dream of home ownership....no time for all that especially if you want to go to bars and racetracks inbetween your sports betting...
