they were there to serve a search warrant (that ended up yielding no drugs or anything illegal) as part of a multi-house sweep in the area.

the only thing he did wrong was taking out his assault rifle, but he thought he was protecting his family. they did not think the swat team was a burglar, despite reports that they did.
