We've already seen how this new Yankee's regime handles affairs concerning their veterans....remember the Jeter contract? It's just how Hank does business and I don't think this is any different with Jorge. I expect the same thing to happen if Mariano ever runs out of gas, but that guy might just pitch forever

I dont think he'd retire until after the season, but he still has been pretty brutal this year.

Why would he retire? If i were him, I would wait for the team to designate for assignment....so that I could collect a full paycheck from the Yankees.....

It's expected of Posada to be all used up,what about Joe Mauer being finished. What a sweet heart deal that would be to get all that money he got just playing a few games and quitting. Then Obama gifted him and his brother a government motors dealership in the twin cities where even jock sniffing conservative, tea party members buy their cars to show that they bought their vehicle at Mauer's dealership.I really liked Mauer right up until I found out he was a communist in like flynn with Obama with all the welfare bailout and playing his first season in the new Twins welfare subsidy stadium.Mauer is a scourge and blythe on the economy and national debt.

You cannot sign/pay players on what they HAVE accomplished, you have to project what they will produce going forward.

Players batting .165 are usually put in the 9th hole. Maybe he should up that average if he wants any argument with Girardi.

is it really that slow of a sports day that espn can't stop talking about it? Big deal.

I mean, theres game 7 in the NBA and the Heat /Bulls, Canucks and Sharks and MLB games.
