You're the type that has no problem when someone wins for example a $200 million lotto and doesn't give any money to friends/family/charity because they won it and deserve it all right? Or better yet, you're the type of person that if gifted a scratch ticket that wins a bunch of money, you'd screw over the person who gifted you the ticket because they gave you the ticket, right?

What a drop-off from 1st to 2nd place, $10k buy-in for 1st place then goes to 1500 SBR points for 2nd which equals ~ $70. How sick would it be to get 2nd place on a sick beat or something and know a WSOP entry was within your grasp but slipped away?

2nd place should at least get 10K SBR points and a lifetime SBR Pro membership or something..........anybody else feel this way?

SBR can do whatever it wants. It is a marketing promotion and feedback was given by the likely participants. They can choose to act on it or not but berating people for voicing an opinion is an altogether pointless endeavor.

If the tournament was meant to be played as super satellite with the last winner rewarded a single package to the WSOP that's fine. But the prize structure proposed was unlike that and skewed awkwardly in comparison to the payouts of any other MTT tournament series out there of which it better resembles.

You can view the complaints as greed but it's just as much about reducing variance. The final table of the last tournament will be no exception and at least the way I proposed people are placated no matter the outcomes.

The whole purpose of these tournaments is to advertise the site, bring in new players, get existing players to re-up and hopefully make everyone happy to be involved in a great community. Setting things up to leave a bitter taste in everyone's mouth is the wrong way to go about it I think and contrary to the intended purpose of this promotion.

not sure agreement could be enforced unless Rio was somehow included. Once entry is paid, any money won will go to that person named as the player. Winning check I suppose will be in one name only as well as any taxes taken out. Depending on what country one is from, depends on amount of taxes withheld and some may not have any. Too many ifs and buts here besides being crappy. MrMarket has a brown nose. What if one or two of the ten left SBR then how will the money be split?

I don't see where any complaint is justified in being second or less. That's life so get use to it! Be alot better to have clause to withhold funds from any such winnings to go towards seats for next year. Could be one or fifty and first place winner would have no beef then.

The devil is in the detail...

We will do this; we have a standard agreement that winner will sign and agree to. Mostly simple stuff like he agrees to wear an SBR shirt. We will include in that agreement that the winner will pay SBR 10% of whatever he wins at the WSOP. SBR will distribute 2% to second and 1% to everyone else at the final table(places 3rd through 10th).

Just curious ... How will this agreement force the winner to respect it in case he/she does not want to? I mean he/she will receive a check and will go back home (let's say he is not american or costarican) and will not want to give 500,000 USD away (asuming he/her is wining 5,000,000 USD)? Imagine the threads, posts and acusations on SBR forum after that ...

if there is a contract involved that the winner signs then he has to give 10 percent or could be sued. I think this is what happen to jamey gold a few years back. I would say 40 percent of people in wsop are staked by someone else that they would have to pay. I am ok with whatever sbr does. Sounds like a good idea. I'd like to see SBR enable chat for all players for the final June 25th tourney, that way when it comes down to the final table, even those who are knocked out already/not playing can still chat at the final table with those who are still playing. I imagine there are going to be alot of observers/railbirds at the final table (myself included) so it would be cool if you could get your poker tech. to enable all chat for that tourney.

I'm sure you will have some SBR employee watching the final table anyways so they can monitor the chat to make sure no railbirds get out of control.

ever try sueing someone from a different country? Besides been sued many times and have never released a penny. Many players are backed by whatever but I assume buy-in is in one name. I rather see the 10% go to seats for next year where-as this can grow from year to year.

Whomever wins this 10K prize plus, if from USA and many other countries, will be liable for alot in taxes which also fits in somewhere.
