What a drop-off from 1st to 2nd place, $10k buy-in for 1st place then goes to 1500 SBR points for 2nd which equals ~ $70. How sick would it be to get 2nd place on a sick beat or something and know a WSOP entry was within your grasp but slipped away?

2nd place should at least get 10K SBR points and a lifetime SBR Pro membership or something..........anybody else feel this way?

If my math is correct, there should be around 570 people in the grand finale, that is alot of people to beat out.

Nah...we are floppimg down a few stacks of C notes to buy a seat at the WSOP plus the air fare and room. Suck it up and win because coming in second is a little like french kissing your grandma around here. And anyway you would of won 500 in the satellite and 1500 for the 2nd, thats 2000 points!....better than a sharp stick in the eye any day.

Any promotion is better then no promotion so I can't complain (Oh yes I can ), whoever gets 2nd will just have to suck it up but damn will that blow to get that far and place 2nd in a 570 person tourney just to leave with 1500 points. There was that 5k SBR point promotion a few months ago for everybody at a table if a royal flush was hit, which alot of people did win....as you know Yet, 2nd place in the biggest poker tourney in SBR history only pays 1500 points. I just hope to god if I get in I don't finish 2nd or it will be

At least 2nd place in the main event pays out around 60% of what 1st place gets. Last year 1st place got 8.9 million and 2nd place got 5.5 million, and the top 747 people out of the 7,319 entries at least doubled their 10k buy in or better.

In this SBR tourney, 2nd place gets ~ $70 (1500pts) and 1st gets $10,000 buy-in. Whoever gets 2nd place should win a forum badge that says something like "Biggest Bubble Ever."

I don't mean on the final table that is millions of chips, but you could have over 100k worth of chips before you even reach the money easily.

Basically until you cash in ME you have no money so busting out on SBR final table or ME before the money is the same result, except in the ME you could have a lot more $ worth of chips before you go out.

No SNG's are planned, since the daily satellites will run from Mon-Fri. Poker maintenance must be performed most weekends.

Many years ago I convinced several buddies to play in a Madden football tournament in Atlanta. We had a league of guys, some from the NFL and were all very good players. 1 of my buddies made it to the championship game against a guy who really wasn't that good. My buddy was up like 3 TD's at half and I kept telling him to just run clock but he kept saying he was going to play his game. Well after interception after interception he ended up losing the game by a last second FG.

Imagine our shock as they award the other guy $5,000 in cash, a tricked out home media center, flat screen Tv, Stereo system, rumble seats and an all expense paid trip to Hawaii to play against the NFL Pro bowl winner that was televised on ESPN. What did my friend get... I think a free game and a t-shirt. We were pissed for weeks.
