Do sportsbooks use the same processors and poker sites? I would think poker processors would have distanced themselves from sportsbetting.

Sportsbetting processors surely knew what they are doing is illegal.
Whether the government decides to go after sportsbetting anytime soon is anyone guess.

I think for now, it is really only directly affects US players. Canadians playing poker is not (nor foreseen) to be affected.

The biggest potential issues are less $$ coming in with fish and harder to cash in/out.

Unless this is a plot to legalize online poker in U.S., chalk it up as a loss.. The U.S. government controls the bank accounts of these sites now. Requesting a withdrawal now is like going to Congress and asking them to psy you money that you earned illegally

this is pretty f'd up. I wonder if this has anything to do with Washington D.c (the district not the federal government) passing a law , making it legal to gamble online legally. The timing of this is interesting. Also New Jersey Senate and Assembly passed a bill making it legal, Chris Chrisit veto'd it.
