#635Do sportsbooks use the same processors and poker sites? I would think poker processors would have distanced themselves from sportsbetting.
Sportsbetting processors surely knew what they are doing is illegal.
Whether the government decides to go after sportsbetting anytime soon is anyone guess.Comment -

#642Cite me a study which stated there is zero correlation. The latest research suggests that the correlation is unknown. The research is too complex (what type of gambler, what type of gambling). If you decide to provide me with a reference make sure it is from a peer reviewed journal or government resource with zero ties to GA, Indian Tribes, or Casinos. The promise of a "better life" often cited by many politicians who advocate the building of casinos is short lived. This is my Atlantic City prospective. I am actually for "anything goes" when it comes to drugs, sex, and gambling but I am also not stupid enough to think that these things don't contribute to society's ills. I rather make everything legal and just use a portion of the benefit to educate people about the effects.Comment -

#644It's depressing. I wish I could be there right now cleaning up those guarantee tournaments. Have you ever played with those Russian *****. They will all in on you with 72 off. Those events will be down from 10k player fields to hundreds all with fish.
I'm not joking when I say I will be playing live now. Which is lame as hell. But on the bright side the money will be in hand. One plus boys to look forward to, once poker is 100% legal through taxed out the butt means; There will be all kinds of new fish at the tables. People will try it just because it's legal now.Comment -

#647The only people that I kind of feel bad for right now are the people that support a family via online poker that pay all their taxes. You're a tard if you think these sites or us in general are victims right now.Comment -

#648Dublin Ireland (April 15, 2011)- Full Tilt Poker is saddened by today's charges against its CEO Raymond Bitar and offers its full support to Mr. Bitar and Nelson Burtnick.
Online poker is a game of skill enjoyed by tens of millions of people in the United States and across the world. And, Full Tilt Poker remains as committed as ever to preserving the rights of those players to play the game they love online.
Mr. Bitar and Full Tilt Poker believe online poker is legal - a position also taken by some of the best legal minds in the United States. Full Tilt Poker is, and has always been committed to preserving the integrity of the game and abiding by the law.
"I am surprised and disappointed by the government's decision to bring these charges. I look forward to Mr. Burtnick's and my exoneration," said Mr. Bitar.
Unfortunately, as a result of this action, Full Tilt Poker has decided that it must suspend "real money" play in the United States until this case is resolved. However, Full Tilt Poker will continue to provide peer-to-peer online poker services outside of the United States.Comment -

#659this is pretty f'd up. I wonder if this has anything to do with Washington D.c (the district not the federal government) passing a law , making it legal to gamble online legally. The timing of this is interesting. Also New Jersey Senate and Assembly passed a bill making it legal, Chris Chrisit veto'd it. Which really pissed me off, because I really liked the guy, thought he was a true guy.Comment -

#660I personally don't see a big hit to sportsbetting at this point. Let's say they seize the domain of whatever sportsbook, they just change the domain name and boom back in business.
Obviously poker and sportsbetting shared the some of the same payment processing companies, but its not like any of these sportsbook employees would ever think of setting foot on U.S. soil.
Hopefully I'm not drawing for straws here.Comment -

#664I don't think these US Gov't cunts really care if it's poker or sports. I think it has a lot more to do with the size of the operations; all three of those sites are/were massive, and seemingly used US processors.Comment -
