Thanks Chute. To answer Crazy's question, there is no 100% silver bullet. AOL, MySpace, Yahoo, ESPN forums and even eBay...they all have the same challenges to do what's best for users. If a website wanted to they could ask users to download a GUID for their machine but that becomes intrusive. You don't want to intrude on privacy or get to the point where it's a hassle to join the community. It's a fine line. We just have to focus on improving the board and making sure posters have the room they need.

The forums that cater to specific topics will help manage themselves. The Players Talk board will always be a little wild with the wide range of topics.

My problem is that paid posters like JJ can have as many ghosts as he wants. He starts threads and talks to himself with several ghosts. That's okay with SBR.

And then someone like Pavy uses Glen Danzing as a ghost and you call him on it. Show some consistency.

Ghosts are fine with me. I enjoy hunting and busting them. Once I fugure out who the ghosts are I keep the info for myself and do not reveal their identities. I get a satisfaction knowing who the ghosts are and them not knowing that I do know.

I have one question for the owners of this site. Why do you hire paid posters?

I think the definition of a forum ghost is someone pretending to be someone they are not in order to dupe the board.

I want to come clean and let everybody know that I am actually not at the USS Enterprise at this moment.

Nonetheless, I personally have no problem with ghosts and ghosting whatsoever. I think that whatever the poster has to say is the only thing that matters, not the handle it is posted under. The ghosts deserve pity, not punishment. The spammers should be banned, though. Banned with all the ghost accounts they have.

I think that the real issue that some posters may be unhappy with is the amount of nonsense in Players Talk. I would suggest creating one more Players-Talk-like subforum but this one must be heavily moderated for nonsense and drama. I think that way everyone will be able to get whatever he comes here for.
