They aren't merging, Dana White made that clear. Strikeforce will still have Scott Coker handling things and it will be business as usual. Strikeforce will stay on Showtime and Dana said there will be NO Strikeforce fighters coming over to the UFC, unless their contracts run out, and only then will he think about negotiating with some of them to join the UFC.

Really hope another organization steps it up quickly and has the financial backing to bring the freak shows, and obvious mismatches back to the betting boards.

It isn't so black and white, but you are right there are huge positives coming from this merger.

There are also some pretty big negatives, just for starters a lot of people liked having variety.

Definite business strategy. Strikeforce was gaining in popularity. Too many strikeforce is better than ufc thread. This is bullshit. I hate dana.

Dream is a bootleg Pride. This is not a merger. Will be no Strikeforce soon. Dana said the same bullshit when he bought Pride. He said he wasn't gonna change a thing. Yeah ok. He will pluck the few best fighters from Stikeforce, and the rest will be looking for jobs.

What are you talking about? The NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA sports have absolutely no competition and do quite well offering a product that a majority are very happy with. This isn't quite the same as a business selling a tangible product to consumers or even a service oriented business. As soon as someone gets together a better business plan and a more entertaining product they will then be able to compete with Zuffa and the UFC. But I wouldn't hold my breath
