ML, you ditto my thoughts from earlier in this thread ... or maybe it was the contest thread. I had dreams of Jake Long in black and gold - even though that was never gonna happen. I picked Albert for the Steelers and I would have also been happy with Otah, but we got a RB and a WR ... not sure what that's about, but Pittsburgh is well-known for their quality drafting, so I will leave them to it!

Sportsgirl, you'll be happy with Mendenhall. I don't think the Steelers have ever had a RB with that much talent.

I know you still need to replace some lost players, but the Steelers are good at finding lunch bucket guys down the line for the blue collar positions. I like the Steelers draft, and I don't even like the Steelers.

yeah, I like the RB and WR they picked, and, like I said, the Steelers organization has always drafted well. But, with this draft, it seems a lot of OL guys got taken early making me wonder what's left.

Yah pitt got the WR they needed, it will help in the goal line and 3rd down situations. Also, the RB is just a joke... Its like Parker ain't good enough now they got a insurance policy.

Although everyone is hawt on Mendenhall, over the course of his career he hasn't done well with alot of contact. If you notice all of his highlights are of "nobody" touching him. I'm not thinking of this guy being a big power/back banger. But I think he will be productive.

id have to say the titans are having the worst draft this year. they pick ANOTHER rb on the first day who is a mirror image of chris henry from last year for the most part. then they draft two DE's and a TE. they already have crumpler and scaife...why draft another TE in the 3rd round?! hopefully they can snag stelz from lsu or hayes from fsu at this 126 pick to get a little more youth on d. the hayes from winston salem is the only pick i like in their draft but i think they couldve snagged him in the 5th...

JDB thing is nice. If T Jackson doesn't start playing good, in a year or two they will have a guy who might have developed really well for them.

you mean assuming they are actually more valuable then there draft status suggests? You can't really blame them for taking safer picks..the last thing the titans needed was a 1st/3rd round bust... The RB should help you guys alot.

I don't know much more about Bill Cowher than the average Joe, but if the price is right I imagine he'd coach in Carolina, Oakland, Detroit or any other God-forsaken situation. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't think Cowher bleeds black & gold. He will coach for another NFL team if an owner comes forward with a legitimate offer.

First off, I would have been all over this thread but I was too busy creaming my pants after seeing KC on day 1.

I do think the class is farily weak this year but for what it was my Chiefs were the best in this year's draft. I'm sold on Dorsey and at worst Albert will be the next Will Shields (at best he will be the next Willie Roaf - so i really don't know which one to take). Flowers should come in and start for us - worried about his speed but considering who we have he immediately becomes our #1 cornerback.

At first I was a little bugged by their 3rd round selections but the more I think about it they didn't really reach for guys and they now have depth in a few positions (we released half of our team and traded our best d-lineman this offseason).

comparing alberts to shields and roaf is almost laughable...those guys were pro bowlers for multiple years...but yet you claim a guy who has only started a handful of games at LT to do the same?!

alberts has lots of upside...but i would not stretch it as far as to say hell be a pro bowl LT w/ consideration as a HOF'er just yet.

Cowher was born and raised in Crafton, Pa - a suburb of Pittsburgh and he absolutely does bleed black and gold. The head coaching job of the Steelers was a lifelong dream and money was not the reason he left that job. Job security in the capacity of NFL head coach is not easily gained - voluntarily leaving a place like Pittsburgh that has had only 3 head coaches in the past 30+ years to go coach somewhere else where you could easily be canned the first year for not having a winning season really wouldn't be too smart, would it? Cowher left to spend time with his family and I would be extremely surprised to see him coach again.

Actually the hail mary in that game from Harbaugh was what I remember most - and that it was batted away. Also, Harbaugh was one of the better looking QBs to ever play the game

Redskins did good with the Niowa guard. That guy is lower body strong and should be a very good mauler for the NFL level.

I would have prefered it too, of course, but since Dallas played that particular SB with 2 QBs (Aikman and O'Donnell) it was hard for the Steelers to win.
