Portland has no chance this late in the game, because of their seeding. They will finish the regular season 5th or worse, which means they will have to win 3 series out of @OKC, @SA, @LAL, and @DAL just to get to the finals, where they will be the road team again. This isn't like the Knicks making the Finals as an 8th seed in '99, when the East sucked and they beat 3 pedestrian teams to get there. I just can't see it happening this year as there are too many good teams to go through.

I took Portland @ 100/1 for 200 dollars 2 weeks ago. Very dangerous team, but I think were one Big Man away from a title. If they draw anyone but the Lakers first round, I like their chances, but I think the Lakers size will be the downfall of Portland(until Oden returns next year)

As you said, its one of the deepest teams, and IMO the deepest team. Fernandez, Batum, Wallace, Roy, Matthews, are interchangeable, and all capable of putting up 20 on any given night. Matthews, Batum, Wallace & Camby are all very quality defenders, so I think Portland has a punchers chance to win it all.

Does this mean put half your bankroll on it? NO. But a small 100-500 future bet couldnt hurt.

I love an underdog story but I'll be the first to tell you Portland has absolutely no chance of representing the West in the finals let alone winning the finals. There are just too many teams that are better and more talented in the West, a possible uspet (if you even want to call it one) could be OKC coming out of the West.

Nobody wants to see a small town team win. Just like how the NCAA tourney was a flop since no premium teams made it deep. More money will be made when teams like LAL, BOS, MIA, CHI, NY make the finals. Stern will do everything in his power to make sure this happens.
