2011 SBR Costa Rica Bash!

When: Friday, August 19th - Saturday, August 20th
Where: Costa Rica Marriot San Jose, Los Suenos Marriot Ocean & Golf Resort

Travel Reimbursement:
SBR will reimburse travel expenses (up to $300 US) for the first 50 qualified SBR Pro posters who joined the forum by January 1st, 2011 and have achieved a minimum post count of 250 posts at the time of the bash registration.

SBR reserves the right (in its sole discretion) to refuse reimbursement to restricted/banned posters and to owners/employees of SBR competitors. You must supply an airline receipt/ticket or paper statement of some kind showing the incurred expense.

Room Reservations:
All SBR posters planning to attend will be required to contact The Marriott Hotels in Costa Rica to place a $300 deposit to secure a room at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. This will also be used for incidental expenses, room service, pay-per-view movies, meals charged to rooms.

SBR will cover the cost of the room and taxes for both Marriott Hotels.

Hotel Accommodations:
All SBR Pro posters with at least 250 posts wishing to attend the SBR Bash will have hotel accommodations provided through August 19th – 20th provided their entry is reserved during the allotted time frame. Check-in time for both hotels is 3pm. Check out time for both hotels is 11am.

Sign-up will open on Thursday March 10, 2011 at 3PM CST. with more information to follow.

Requirements for attendance:
1. Must be an SBR Pro.
2. Must have joined prior to January 01, 2011.
3. Must have 250 post at time of registration.

CC deposits are only used as a security deposit and Will Not Be Charged unless you don't show up and you Do Not Cancel your reservation within the allotted time-frame. Or if you have incidental fees that you charge to your room or for damages.
CC information is required only to Hold the room. In the event that you do not show and do not cancel your reservation within the allotted time-frame, then your card will be charged for one night (at each hotel).
Current rates will be approx. $180 US per night per room.
Posters CC will Not Be Charged unless the aforementioned occurs.

Is the hotel the first night on the beach or second night? Or are they oth on the beach? Trying to figure out if I want to extend the stay in the begining of the week or end of the weekend? Or basically which hotel would be better to do so. I'm thinking coming earlier would be easier, but I want to make sure the first hotel is nice as well. Thanks in advance.

You better make sure the hotels make sure the CC # they are given by the posters are valid and registered to the actual poster. Make sure a poster just doesn't call up the hotel with the right number of numbers for a CC and it's not bogus.

I'm fine with a large dollar hold as long as the word holds true that it is not charged.

Sounds good. I think extending the stay will be the decision. Also, that makes perfect sense that they don't charge the card. It's like this most places. Thanks Sam.

You got that right. There must be some other way this can happen. This will let someone sign up that may not go and SBR will think they are going until 2 weeks of the Bash due to the hotel signups. Like I mentioned before SBR better make sure that the hotels check the CC to make sure it's a valid card registered to the person making the reservation. Some people could sign up that have no desire to go and call and give a CC # with right number of digits and just totally flake out on the trip...Lots of hotels just require a # to hold the room but no verification is done....SBR should have something required to show you are going well before 2 weeks before the trip...

Guys, remember, you don't get the money until you get there. A bunch of people will probably sign up, but I'm guessing that about 50 will end up actually going. If 100 show up in vegas, I doubt 100 show up in CR. Having to be PRO should help quite a bit imo. It will be fine.
