#37I dont think many of you understand how this works, oil is a resource, money is directly linked to resources if the price reaches 5 quid it will not stay 5 quid it will go up. And more money can't be printed cuz yes you guessed right they are linked to even more resources and NONE of the current political systems known in the whole wide world have taken that into consideration.Comment

E-85 isn't even available in most areas, can you even get it in Tampa ? I reckon you could get most any vehicle to run on that E-85 corn juice, but you create another problem, eh !

Then if you turn corn essentially into gas ( or fuel) what do you feed livestock , how do you make stuff like corn muffins corn syrup, corn chex, etc. ?

Yeah you could essentially grow corn as fuel ( gas substitute) .

FH ain't fooling me , then the corn price skyrockets ( good if you own Iowa).

America can't grow enough ******* corn to fix this, and Jeff knows that, he knows more about corn than anybody here.

The corn is needed already for other stuff, no surplus corn supplies exist to be converted to fuel. ******* Fishhead knows this better than any of us ! Comment Comment

#41lol different types of corn... The reason it makes no sense is because Ethanol is energy negative, meaning it takes more energy to refine it than it will ever produce. Sure the corn industry wants you to believe its the greatest thing since pocket pussies but there maybe, just maybe a conflict of interest there.Originally posted by DougRidiculous ! U.S. ethanol exports could double this year from the 400 million gallons exported in 2010, chief executive officer Todd Becker of Green Plains Energy of Omaha said.

The 2010 exports were a fourfold increase over 2009 ethanol exports, according to the Renewable Fuels Association. Canada is the leading importer of U.S. ethanol, followed by the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, India and United Arab Emirates.Comment

#47Costa Rica's economy is doing just fine, even with our +$4/gal of gas and with double retail pricing on most items. So, if a little bitty ole third world country like Costa Rica can make it just fine, one would think that the almighty US of A could make it work, right?Originally posted by floridagolferNothing will being the U.S. economy to a screeching halt like $4 gas, and unfortunately, it probably is coming.Comment

#57What our Liberal friends fail to talk about is the huge untapped resourses that our country has, but is not allowed to drill for, because Obama, and all of the other Liberal freaks are too concerned about saving a tree. The correct solution is a combination of ingredients. Destroying the economy and thinking that it will force us to develop and sell cars that do not rely on petrolium products is just plain stupid, but what else would you expect from Liberals? Their must be enough petrolium products available at a reasonable price to allow the economy to grow, and thus be able to continue to produce vehicles that are less dependent on these petrolium products. It is amazing how little some people know about the economy in here.Comment

#64I am 36 yrs old and I remember when I began driving gas was less than a buck a gallon. I'd see news cast on tv and see gas prices in California at around 2 bucks, and thought glad I am not living in Cali. Shesh now it feels like we are all living in Cali with the high cost of everything these days. This economy crap sucks... seems everything gets raised except all our paychecks. This is why I choose to gamble, gotta make a better living somehow.Comment
