LOL this thread is the best one i've read so far, especially with all the 100% Nova lock people out there. Ha. I'll tell you what though to all those 100% lock Nova fans out there, I would hope that Marquette gets beat tonight because if they win they're in and that makes 10 Big East teams in with Nova the 11th??

and p.s. Nova played 2 ranked teams in non-conference schedule. Lost to Tenn, 6th best team in SEC and a win at home vs Temple. I'm not impressed.

i hope they get left out. you hate seeing teams who limp into the post season who you know aren't going to even get close to winning the title anyway get in based on a couple of decent wins and backed by being in a good conference.

What teams on the bubble are clearly superior to Villanova?

Clemson? (RPI 81)
Virginia Tech? (RPI 96)
Colorado? (RPI 64)
Nebraska? (RPI 84)
USC (RPI 69)

Honestly---you are looking at Villanova through a vacuum----with no context of the teams on the bubble.

Nova is not on the bubble.

They are in the tournament.

In the last 19 years-----no team with 20 wins, and an RPI in the 30's----from a major conference has been left out of the tournament. And, with an expanded field--- it isn't happening this year.

agree. RPI is a good measurement tool, so is recent play. And Nova isn't even a top 100 team with their last month of play taken into account.

all i said 3 games ago was that there was a VERY SMALL chance that villanova could miss the tournament, and of course i got bashed by all the "100% chance they're in" guys.

well, let's get a few conference tourney winners that aren't supposed to get in and maybe, just maybe, nova could be left in the cold.

they certainly don't deserve to get in, going 9-10 in big east games and losing their last 5.

But still going 9-10 in easily the toughest conference still deserves something.

I could care less if they get in or they don't, but they definitely stumbled the last month or so. Big east should still get 10 or 11 in the tourney.

Me and my brother were deciding which longshot to take in the Big East Tourney. I threw 150 on Uconn...He put 75 on Nova and Syracuse.
He kept laughing and telling me Uconn won't win, and I told him Nova could lose to USF. Now Nova probably wouldn't of lost if Yarou didn't get injured, but still....

Mike, I hate to break it to you----but there isn't a single bracket guy on any network that even thinks there is a chance Villanova gets left out.

Lunardi, Palm----don't even have Villanova near the bubble, let alone on it.

And Lunardi has accurately predicted the entire field the last 6 years. So, he may actually know what he is talking about.

lunardi has villanova as one of the last four byes. so that's pretty close to the bubble, get 5 extra teams in from conference tourneys and lunardi would have them out.

still a HUGE long shot but crazy things sometimes happen in these conference tourneys, and also crazy things also happen with a selection committee that has never taken 11 teams from a conference.
