    mistakenly paid out twice
A friend of mine got was mistakenly paid out the second time for an amount of $2,500 from an online gambling company. Now he does not intend to give the money back as it has already been spent. Did anyone have this kind of experience, and what's the worst thing the gambling company can do to get their money back?

They can't do anything, but your friend shouldn't be surprised when he's not able to get an offshore book to take his action.

ok, but it's nothing like the company will send out a thug to his house since they have the physical address right?

Your "friend" will be fine. Just don't expect him to be able to gamle online anymore.

He'll be fine, don't worry. But, enjoy a long future of battling D- books for payouts and such. I have a feeling your friend will be giving more than the $2,500 back through blind robbery from below-average books.

Might want to suggest he finds a local.

On a serious note....You never stated how you were paid. If it was by wire/instant deposit, then you'd have a problem. They can take funds out of your checking account just as easy as they put them in. If the payout wasnt by this method then you're in the clear. Doubt we could say the same for an accounting employee at a certian book

You don't need to ask us what you should do. I suspect you already know.

This happened before a few years ago now. The bank that issued the payouts sent 10 players 2 checks instead of 1 by mistake.

As I remember, 9 guys just called us up and said WTF? We thanked them and gave them some $$ in their account for bringing the error to our attention. I think it was $200 each. The other guy never paid back the extra 9K the bank mistakenly sent him. He would just hang up on us and said "TFB you ain't getting back a cent." Nice huh? We sent him 9k and the bank goofed and sent him an extra check of 9K and he cashed them both. He is probably dead or homeless by now. Karma!

The thing I love about SBR is that no matter how much posters disagree about sports, sportsbooks, politics etc ... the over whelming majority have will stick up for what is right.

yes about karma, this gambling company gave my "friend" a really hard time about the payout, a lot of back and forth. You can guess which company it is, that's why he didn't mind being blacklisted from it.
Thanks for the input though fellas....

very few things are black and white....

having said that...how would you feel if a similar mistake cost you $9k? You would be whining madly about it to anyone who would listen...do the right thing and pay it back...

The right thing is not always easiest....
Hey boon, these off-shore books will take every dime you have and would not even piss on you if you were on fire if they knew you were broke. Any other "company" i would agree but not an off-shore sports book.

do not agree with chargebacks though. You lost so man up and pay. But this kind of mistake? fuk them.

come on... that would be a sleazy thing to do but you can not compare it to this in my opinion. I had a book who knows i'm a degen that would not block my CC at my request. At first they said no problem it is blocked but in that same chat they changed their minds. Well they would, after I signed a piece of paper and faxed it to them. They know full well any degen will change his mind and not follow through.

Yes, it is my choice to gamble but after a really bad losing streak I just wanted to make sure i could only send money by going in a store and sending a you know what. I realized a CC was way too easy and i could not stop myself. I have sadly not tried to get my CC blocked since and i'm fukked. I am sure there are a million other stories how books prey on your weakness or just generally try to screw you over.

These books (even top rated books) have ruined lives. I am sure some have even killed themselves. They do not give a shit about us, do not fool yourself. there will always be a million like us out there that will take our place. I myself would not even be able to sleep at night if I worked for one of these books.

Again, in my other post i said chargebacks are wrong so do not think i am the type looking to screw over a book. I am just stating my opinion why I do not feel sorry for the book and can't seem to get why most of you do?
