Looks like they Devils will be picking up another two points in the standings on Carolina tonight and still have a game-in-hand. Atlanta couldn't be Edmonton, making it better news for New Jersey.

I really don't care for NJ, but I'd like to see something historic

Yeah, I hope the Leafs TANK the rest of the season. The Bruins get their 1st rounder this year too from the Kessel deal. We could use another solid winger..

We've got two solid goalies, a great coach, and a powerplay that's finally clicking. Our defense is playing like the Devils of old (only 5 GAA in the last 5 games, all against strong playoff teams) and something the Devils of old never had: a fast, confident game-winner (Kovy). Add to that our best player of the last few years (Parise) will likely be fit again for playoffs, and we're talking about a damn good contending team. As if that's not enough, we've had Philly's number in the post season for quite some time, so the eighth seed doesn't scare me at all.

I placed my $20 bet on the devils to win the cup right after watching their first period against the Canes tonight. 150-1, $3000 pay off. Easily the best value on the board. Needless to say, I believe.

And above all, they are playing like a team on a mission. They are the best team in the league at the moment.

this team is legit. They've really gotten back to old-school devils hockey under Lemaire. Solid goaltending, disciplined tough defense, and timely goals. The games are boring mindf*ucks, but the W is all that matters and they have been producing a bunch of WINS.

Agree with the next week. If they can close the gap to about 4-5 points behind this week, they definetly have a shot. If after this week there still around 9-10 points behind, just ain't happenin.
