First date I will always pay.
After a few dates make sure she pays for a few smaller things but I will still be covering most. Want to make sure she doesn't get into the habit of everything being a free ride.
If it gets to the stage where it becomes an actual relationship things become more 50/50.

If I was out for dinner with a girl who I've been out with before where I picked up the cheque and she offered to pay for her half I wouldn't be impressed. She should either pickup the whole cheque or leave her wallet in her purse.

but yeah if its a first date you should def pay for everything. it is on her if she is going to act like she plans on paying for her half. but its great when she tries. means she's not 100% a gold digger. but by the time youre in a relationship she should start picking up some of the tabs. not 50% but at least 30% and she better be cleaning your place too
