#37It depends on their/my logic. I love the stuff, have no issues with my use of it and it's current illegality. Once the gov't gets their hands on it, I presume their would be many more issues than their currently are for someone like me who is content with my recreational use of it.Originally posted by RonPaul2008Apparently 6 people here are idiots.Comment -

#39Well if the US legalizes pot it will not be classified as a crop bus as a drug. Then the drug companies will get in the business and you can get pot from Walgreens like the other prescriptions so the government will make money from taxing it like they do with all prescription drugs.Originally posted by stealthyburritoi don't see how that translates into the marijuana industry.
california showed us the artificial prices created by its illegal status.
there are so many small dispensary shops that they compete with one another for clientele.
grade A heady shit in california i believe runs about $3-$5 per gram.
anywhere else, the same shit runs for about $20 per gram.
moreover, that money goes toward the continuation of an illegal op instead of a legitimate business charging fair market value for the product.Comment -

#40Sorry stealthy... I live in my own element. I have my reasons. It's not like I would mind it getting legalized... I just am not sold on the idea. I just don't know if I can trust the suits will setup the laws in a way that benefits people like me.Originally posted by stealthyburritozammer, plz say you did not vote no.
Like I said, voting yes is not the wrong answer to me... it's just more complicated in my opinion to legalize it. I am content with it as is.Comment -

#41I hope (and strongly believe) I would have the same position on the issue. The vast majority people who own guns, as well as the vast majority of people who drink alcohol, do so without harming other people. Should both of these freedoms be taken away from everyone on account of the small percentage of people who abuse them?Originally posted by drew17you guys wont be saying lets legalize it when someone kills a family member while under the influence of it...Comment -

#42Then why have limitations in anything. Why can't we buy rocket propelled grenades or anti aircraft missiles freely if we like to own these weapons but don't like to harm anyone? There is a reason for everything. Some items are not meant to be legal even though the vast majority of the people will not abuse them or cause harm.Originally posted by jgilmartinI hope (and strongly believe) I would have the same position on the issue. #52the states lose a lot of money because of how the prison system is set upOriginally posted by samdapatriotsfan52% of most states inmates are there for Marijuana charges (according to the FBI).
If it is legalized that creates alot of lost income and lost jobs.
If there is nothing to replace the lost jobs and income then it will never be legalized.

#53State regulated. Nationally it will not be instituted i would think. We're not even close to that yet. the first time this even goes big on trial will be a few years from now- nothing will even be accomplished until about 20 trials, some experimentation, analysis, etc. It will turn into a scholarly case providing defense attorneys with detrimental sociological/nationalistic problems. There will new evidence every few years coming into play.
Its way to controversial of an issue to be settled anytime soon. From a conservative political perspective its looked upon as a weakness for endorsing marijuana, how other nations (and enemies) view this, etc.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

#57No. One purpose of government should be to protect unintelligent/uneducated people against themselves; many existing laws do just that. I can't see legalizing heroin bringing a net benefit to society.Originally posted by dfberger23Yes, every drug should be legal.Comment -

#63should it be legalized of course its a plant and no matter how much you smoke or eat you will pass out before you die.... Do think it should be legalized **** no its already legal here in cali me and my circle are gearing up for our 99 plant outdoor grow in trinity co .... by the way places like Humboldt co, trinity co, and other rural northern cali communitys would be crushed. The familys that went from bootlegers to growers for generations in kentucky and tenn would be crushed. Never going to happen in my lifetime not all the states so will always be a market for cali dank.Comment -

#69I have no issues with it being legal, the problem is the govt is going to want to regulate/tax it, which is also okay. But if its legal and the govt taxes it, then it wont/cant be legal to grow your own, and this is why it will never happen. Its just like booze when it was illegal, except it is alot easier to grow your own pot and hide it from the govt than it is to distill your own spirits in your backyard.

#70YES! It should be legalized....without question- The amount of Tax dollars and income generated from the legalization should be enough to tapir the amount of jobs lost etc. The "drug" is not harmful long term, you can wake up the next day without a hang over...legalize it, dont crit-a-size it!Comment
