Well, my shortlived adventure in sportsbetting is at an end.
What a nightmare. I had never considered sports betting until I heard a well known radio personality in my area (Hartford CT) talking about it. This person runs a paid handicapper service. So, I thought, "why not, I'll try it". This radio person recommended to all his new clients that they set up an account at Bet Royal. I knew nothing about sports betting or offshore books so I did what he suggested. He gave out an 800 number to call (on his radio show) and said to talk to "Darlene". Most people here know that story, Bet Royal was bought out by SBG Global and SBG Global then robbed all of the customers who had been sent to Bet Royal by the radio personality/sports handicapper. The radio personality/ sports handicapper claimed to be 'surprised' that Bet Royal/SBG Global would do this, but it was interesting to find out that SBG paid the radio personality all of the money due him even though they claimed that the reason they stole our money was due to our being in a syndicate run by the radio personality. So, obviously the radio personality was more involved with SBG then he let on.

Then BJO comes along and does a bailout. For 20 x rollover. My account balance was rather high so I just met the rollover requirement of $600,000 a few days ago. I have been very ill lately and just didn't have the energy to deal with getting a payout. Charlie told me not to worry about it, and since everyone else who was bailed out had already received their payouts I didn't worry about it.

Now it seems like BJO is gone.

I'm just glad this nightmare is over.

I'm sure that the idiots and teenagers will flame this thread, that's okay, they can't change the fact that they are idiots.

Sports betting was interesting to me, well I should say the statistics involved in handicapping was interesting to me, but all this bull shit I have had to go through with a crooked paid sports handicapper, SBG, BJO, hiring a lawyer to file a lawsuit against SBG, receiving death threats from SBG, well it just isn't worth it.

Hate stories like this, if our government would let us be free and legalize and regulate online gaming we would all be better off. The government could collect more taxes and our money could indeed be safe. I've had check bounce before also, but not as much as it seems you have been taken for.

Curious it seems like you're a solid capper (you've had two go around to prove it), but a slightly gullible sportsbook selector. Stick to the books outlined by Durito, and you'll have nothing to sweat. GL

i need help in bases as well. I know alot about bases and players, usually good in fantasy. But when it comes to capping, i never really figured out what to look for. Always playing favorites and waving goodbye to myself

I would except the moderators took away my PMs because I stand up to these jackasses on here. I told someone who was harassing me (payracer) that I would be happy to meet them in person anytime so they could talk shit to my face like they do on here, and one of the moderators said I was "making threats". Not sure how offering to let someone talk shit to my face is making a threat. Anyway they won't turn my PMs back on, I have asked.

i don't know why everyone has always busted on Curious, he stated when he got here that he was new to the whole off-shore thing and touts, he told his story about the bet royal/SBG thing. I'm sure he knows what the good books are by now, its just he was new and deposited in money into a book that screwed a bunch of people cause they were winning.
a lot of people don't find out about SBR until the get screwed.
he has admitted he was new to the whole thing. there are like a gazillion tout sites out there that advertise shit books, he just didn't find out until it was too late.
hindsight is always 20/20, so for people to point out what books are good for him is asinine, he knows better now, but that doesn't help him since he got screwed out of a shit-load of money.

Curious if you read this, just keep capping at home and if you still keep doing good on paper maybe you'll take another stab at it. I'm sure your experience with what happened will be hard to swallow, but you got some good handicapping skills, so maybe you'll be back , maybe not, but GL and Godspeed to you and the future.

Thanks, I really do like handicapping. Well, it is the forensic statistics that I like. I have no doubt that I could do well. I just don't have the energy/nerves whatever to deal with this crap anymore. And the thought of entrusting my hard earned money to another offshore book...well that won't happen anytime soon.

I have thought about finding some people to work with and use my skills to make picks and we share in the results. I think I proved in 4 different sports that I can consistently pick winners. Right now I am just tired. And ill. And I don't want to bother with this anymore.

Perhaps later I might change my mind.

curious how much did you actually lose in your money, savings?

I mean if somebody builds a 200 dollar bankroll into 10,000....

and I ask "how much did you lose"

They could say 200 bucks or they could say 10,000

Well, let's see. I paid the handicapper $5400. Then I opened an account at Bet Royal and funded it with $2500 more or less. Then later I opened an account at SBG Global and funded it with $500. As time went on I got $4000 in payouts. So, I put in $8400 and got out $4000, so I lost $4400 in cold hard cash.

More importantly to me is the fact that I invested a lot of my valuable time only to have the results of this investment stolen. Oh, I also paid a lawyer $5000 for a lawsuit I filed against SBG, then I paid the lawyer another $2500 to protect me from threats that SBG was making against me. Personally, I would have been happy to meet Agami in person so that he could make good on his threats, but I have family that would be very unhappy if I did something like that. The mo fos at SBG were calling my house leaving their threats on my voice mail. Can you imagine?

So, altogether I lost $11,900. Plus the opportunity cost of the $34,000 that I ran the account balance up to at Bet Royal / SBG Global.

The opportunity cost is important to me because I have other things I could have been doing with my time that would provide income that the time and effort I put into handicapping took away. Which is one reason why I am sick of this nonsense. I have other things I can do with my time.
