#107Really? Wow.
Well I'm no big shot trader like you claim to be but here's one little thing I remember from studying finance for 8 years at university: One should never pay cash for anything if they have decent credit. And of course your credit is excellent as I remember you pointing out before and as it should be with your gigantic salary. To maximize your personal financial growth, you should be charging whatever you can and paying the balance in full each month when the bill comes. The cash you would've spent can be put to work actually earning you money during that period of time from when the charge is made and the bill is due.
But of course you already know all of this, right?Comment -

#126I'm going to break this down for you one time and maybe you'll see why this post just fukked you over even harder. The concept I posted earlier is basic finance. Maybe 2nd year, could even be 1st year. There is no one who studied that who would be shelling out cash for $54k of food purchases a year. No one. Now you might come back and say "well, this is the first year I've spent this much and I didn't realize until now or else I would've thrown it on a card." Again I'll say bullshit. Anyone who purports to work with numbers all day will always have a clue as to what they're personal financial incomings vs outgoings are. In fact most people I know who actually started off trading and are obviously much higher up the ladder now are compulsive about numbers in all FACETS, not fashions, of their lives. That compulsion arose from being somewhat naturally talented with numbers as one needs to be in the world of finance and from constantly performing mental calculations in the middle of the night about what they needed to achieve in order to meet their KPIs to ensure their asses didn't get fired. Even the ones who spent more than they had in order to survive when they were first starting out still retained what they learnt in school because it was drilled in our heads so many times. When the time came that we were all earning decent money we were able to put in practice what we were taught to maximize our earnings. Paying $54k in cash for food would get you laughed out of any business school anywhere. That's just a fact.
Oh and you didn't misspell a word. You used the incorrect one that sounds somewhat similar. Big difference.Comment -

#130Taylor if you were really wealthy you wouldn't be adding up any meal receipts. Your accountant would. If you had an accountant it would much easier to pay with a CC so you don't have to keep every little receipt you pay cash for because you would write-off everything possible. (Even if food and entertainment are only 50% write-offs). Why would you waste your time keeping up with all the cash receipts? I don't know many wealthy people who pay cash for much of the day to day stuff. (Debit card possibly) But you are so BIG TIME you have to pay cash and then add up the receipts yourself.Comment -
