Anyone see the kobe-wilbon convo on sportscenter
Kobe admits he is finally thinking about the end. meaning his career. Says it is not around the corner but it is right down the street. Guy has been playing for so long and been so great. So much better than lebron or anyone else playing still at his age. wonder how many more years he plays. maybe 3 or 4

Best player currently in the NBA and I personally think he should go out while still on top. Nothing is more pathetic than watching an athlete try to hold on to yesterday. You know what I mean. Some players stay in the game too long and everyone around them knows it but won't say anything. Kobe is better than that. I hope.

i agree. i think he will. seems like that type of guy. i dont see him hobbling around the court like MJ. I think he plays 3 maybe 4 tops. NBA will be weird without him for a couple years when he leaves.

It will be hard to see him go. NBA will be different without him that is for sure. I hope someone steps right over Lebron to assume the King of the NBA title when Kobe bows out.

i think kobe will drop dead of exhaustion by 35.

since 2007-8, no player has played more games than him. 3 finals appearances, Olympics, international games.... which is why he keeps breaking down.

he needs to take it easy if he wants to extend his career.

Good point. Maybe he will do like Jordan and retire for a few years and then make a comeback.

I think the person you are looking for to step over Lebron is playing right now in Oklahoma City #35 Kevin Durant guy is just Awesome if he can add some muscle onto his frame he could just be completely unstoppable imo. If Carmelo and CP3 both end up in NYC which I believe is a very real possiblity wow could you think of the battles of Miami & New York would be very good to watch I just dont know how all this big 3 stuff is for the game and the way it is occuring under the table deals kinda shady but out of all the people that bashed Lebron for going to Miami when I heard Sir Charles Barkley ramble on about it I wish someone would have reminded him about his trip to Houston to try and get a ring I believe that was no different than what Lebron did fwiw.

I've never really been a fan of Lebron James. What I think separates him from just being a player who wanted to go to a certain team to win a ring is that for one thing, this is usually done toward's the end of a players career and secondly but even more importantly is how Lebron screwed over his home city and how he did it. I don't wan't to divert this thread away from it's main subject but Lebron James is not even in the same class as Kobe Bryant. Once again let's not make this another Kobe vs Lebron thread guys.

Durant would be a fine inheritor.

Closest to Jordan. Wilbon is worthless. Those are separate thoughts.

Miami will be a dominant team for years to come....kobe will get at best one more ring this year...after that forget it...maimi will figure things out from next year and will be unstoppable...they will win 5-6 championships in a row. Kobe has the last shot this year to get a ring and he knows it.

Watching the Lakers without Kobe in 3 or 4 years from now wont be the same. I'm 27 now and I remember watching Nick Van Excel, Eddie Jones, Vlade Divac and others. After they were gone, growing up watching Kobe play all those seasons was the best. I'm a die hard Laker fan, but when Kobe is not in the lineup, it will be a sad day

Lebrons game is just not suited for the post season abnd they do not have a big man

hard to see Miami winning a championship.
