So this is my son Seth. He was born 2 months early, weighing 1.33kg or 2.93 pounds. I'm sure even the biggest degenerates of you can imagine how awful it was to have a plane ticket to go back to Canada, think you still have 2 months left before a baby comes into your life and then all of a sudden he's there and he's so tiny no one thinks he's going to make it and you're stuck in a country that's not home. And the first people to visit us after our close friends came were the Salvation Army because they were the only ones who had clothes small enough to fit Seth and they knew it was important for a mother to see her baby in clothes just like any other 'normal' one, even though he was stuck in that little incubator for ages. They have volunteers who make tiny clothes for preemies and basically have a little grapevine ready for times like this because they realise parents will be in shock and won't be prepared. More importantly, they understand how much it means for a parent to see their child look like any other one when Doctors are preparing you constantly because they don't think the little dude will survive.

Come on everyone. Just donate your daily points for today only if that's all you feel like giving. These guys clothed my little boy when I couldn't even do it myself because I had no clue what was going on. Just click the link in my first post and even give 5 points.

They are still deeply rooted in their Christian origins and are openly anti gay and oppose any non Christian beliefs. Its hard to give money to a charity which thinks its ok to throw away books donated for children, just because a book may have literature relating to Witches or Vampires. Moreover they discriminate, and would have no problem opposing the help of a same sex couple and going as far as to not hire or allow gay people to volunteer for them

I had actually included in my original post that I don't agree with some of their tenets but at the end of the day I can honestly say I don't give a rats ass. I know for a fact that they've helped 2 openly gay friends of mine and they obviously helped me when I needed it. If we look too closely at the motivation of any charity it won't be pretty.

You buy the donation through the SBR store. There are several worthy charities in there. This is just the one that the consensus voted for when newguy initially started this.

shari i just came across this...this is a wonderful thing...it feels good to be able to give...my wife is a schoolteacher and they just had an "adopt a family" charity for under priviliged families..we adopted a family this year and we got to meet them and give them presents..it was really cool to see the look on a 5 yr old boy who needed a jacket.....thats all this boy wanted because he was cold...it broke my heart but made me feel good that i could give him one...all of the families came to this one location so i got to see all the happy kids opening gifts that people gave them...u could really tell how much they all appreciated it..really puts things in perspective and i will do it every year now for the rest of my life...the littlest things to us make a world of difference for people less fortunate....thanks for doin this..
