I know a lot of us already do the donation thing in our own time, but I'm asking you to help out with this from the bottom of my heart. So if you've ever tailed me on a pick, I've ever made you laugh or you've ever given yourself a pat on the back for ripping me to shreds at least please consider this.
The Salvation Army is such a great charity and to be honest, they helped me out in a roundabout way when my mom died and again when Seth was born early. It's not all about soup kitchens and op shops, although those services are obviously a part of what they do as well. They are truly a great community support beyond that and even if you believe you will never need their services, chances are someone you know has needed their help in some way. And there's always that old saying about each of us only being a couple (or maybe even one) step away from disaster should we lose our job, someone become seriously sick, etc...
Anyway, newguy has started this charity collection and I know everyone loves their points but maybe just try to give a little. Betting a few less points on a sportsbook bet for one day isn't going to kill you. I promise. You honestly have no idea how integral this charity is across the world until you desperately need their help, whether you know it at the time or not. And it sounds corny, but every penny does help if you take a look at their financial statements (they're not one of those charities who spend 90% on staff wages and mysterious 'admin' costs).
