Here's a great example too with all the calculations: (and it actually uses 65 suited!)

#108Tough loss BJ. In the future if the money is already spent in your head then leave. It is that simple. If the money has a more meaningful place then on the table take it and use it on that. This is especially true when people are talking about bills/necessities. I know that wasn't your case but the TV,laptop, watch or whatever you were buying in your head should be at your house not still on the store shelf. BOL in the future.Comment -

#111i feel for you
i also play on tables that my br do not support, but on line, but i played sloppy and lost.
best advice................always cashout after a big run, if you are in a live game double your initial buy in ad leve.
on line take 50% of your prfits on monthly or weekly bases.
leaving the mone there is a temptation and cause us to play loose.Comment -

#115well with ur flush draw. on the turn if he checks to u, u shoulda prob just see the free card, at the turn ur hand was like 20% if u seekin for a flush draw, so by betting 600$ ur pretty much self-commiting yourself to the pot if he calls, especially when he call ur check raise... yes u could say he had 99, but its likely he made a read on u with flush draw, perhaps u made a quick re-raise on the flop, if u had a King ... with the straight and flush draw on the board he prob think u'd wanna do pot control, so when u bet he put u on flush draw, its not the worst play.. in fact it could be a really good read on his part.
as for the aces full to quad 8.. yea thats tough .. but dont u get a bad beat bonus from casino if u lose with Aces full?Comment -

#121i still think with all the math here you guys are missing the point (and i am as big on math as they get).
unless this was an actual casino, it comes back to the "fat tony" street smarts question:
if i flip a fair coin 100 times and it comes up heads all 100 times then what are the odds it will come up heads on the next flip?
**the mathematician says 50/50
**fat tony says almost 100% - there is a much greater chance you are lying about the fairness of the coin than an actual fair coin coming up heads 100 times in a row
so i would agree with fat tony here, there is a pretty good chance on the first hand back from break, that when a88 comes on the flop, and one player has aa and another has 88 that the game is rigged. especially with the way it was bet and raised on the turn. i would NEVER raise on the turn in position with the nuts like that for fear of chasing away another bet on the river/first guy improving.Comment -

#122also - a detective would point out that not too many people, upon losing this much money in this manner, would be able to post 5 nice messages in the hour before the posting of this story like bj did.
if i went on the computer, my anger would be showing on every post and the first thing i would do is post about this and it would include quite a few cuss words.Comment -

#124This post made me laugh not only does it not clarify exactly why I have no idea what I am talking about it does not prove that you know what you are talking about in any way either.Originally posted by dtpSharpcat, you are totally clueless. What is even funnier is when reviewing your posting history I notice that you post exactly 1 post per day
Mr. big shot poker player seems to be awfully pressed for his precious 12 SBR points a day, I get it your a big shot poker player you just do not have any money.
What is even funnier is the idea that their is only 1 way to play every poker hand which is flat out untrue there are many variables to a poker hand, in this scenario I would choose to flat call after the flop whereas others would choose to raise and hope for a big hand on the turn.
Good luck at the SBR poker tables!!!Comment -

#125Sapidoc, correct on the first hand being a cooler but the second hand, he should have walked away from and waited for a better spot. Especially at a table with a bunch of fishies. Had he not just been cooled, then I would suggest the loose play call but after the cooler hand he needs to default to grind mode.Comment -
