when paco didn't post his 63x bomb on twitter i was kind of miffed. there were rumblings here and there about "paco's big play", but his twitter posts are so erratic i had to do some digging just to find it.

i don't read player's talk, but i opened it up and saw the thread where he made the play. i had quit reading paco's thread, because it was just too tiring to try and get through.

it didn't matter that the bet lost, (yes, of course it matters in real terms), because it was still a very good bet that happened to end on one of the worst bad beats i've ever seen.

then someone somewhere mentioned that there was some "drama" in paco's thread so i scrolled to the beginning of the saga and read it all through. in a word--fascinating.

so here's my take: initally, the thread was filled with condolences, and talk about the game, but then the dialogue started to lean heavily toward it being a "fixed" game. lb then chimed in about how everyone in paco's thread would cry "fix" whenever they lost a big bet. wtf!!!!! he said things to the effect that it's why he no longer posts in this thread because every time "you guys" lose a big bet you
go on and on about how it was fixed. he then said the colts game wasn't fixed at all it just was what it was--not a fix.

i instantly sent lb a pm saying thanks for pointing that out, but that you are one of the biggest cry fixers on the goddamn forum (paraphrasing). remember last year all the cry fixes, kill stern, the refs are bought off nonsense in his thread? i do. i mean that's just sour grapes, cry-baby nonsense from losers who just don't know how to take a loss. but think about it: lb was one of the biggest cry babbies of that goddamn nonsense on sbr. so talk about a big friggin hypocrite.

then it escalated. paco got pissed. lb got pissed. they went back and forth, it got really heated, and then as paco has said repeatedly and accuraely, lb's true colors came out. sad, but that's how i saw it.

for the record i was not and am not a big lb fan. in the beginning i was, but i quickly realized that he bet way to many games to have an edge for his style of handicapping. i have a lot of respect for the way lyon handicapps, but not lb. i think his line movement nonsense is pure bullshit. the line moves 3 cents on the last tick, so that means the game is going to be close--christ. "did you see that line move back and forth, but then it just stayed there--the books are telling you that they think the favorite is going to win." i mean, enough is enough.

i just recognized it for the bullshit that it was. but don't take my word for it. i tracked his plays all last year and this and if you put 1x on all his line movement plays he'd be at around 51-52%. so yea, his line movement theories were pretty spot on--about half the friggin time!

lb made all of his money on the 50x bombs that came in, and if your honest with yourself you'll remember that almost every one of those were posted the day before or early on before the lines even came out! let alone had a chance to move...just sayin.

that being said, i took everything he said with a grain of salt and never tailed him. but i very much enjoyed his threads because of all the cross-section of opinion. but to be honeset, lb would act like such a baby when he was criticized. he'd threaten to leave, leave, come back, jesus give me a break. he wanted to be loved and adored, and have the thread with the most views. he told me on several occasions (privately) to delete my posts, because he didn't want the thread to get shut down.

i mean the man would cry and cry and complain no end about the trolls and haters and then argue and fight with them until he was blue in the face.

don't you love this expression: where are all the haters now? this is always posted after a big win or a series of wins. translation: i love to argue with the haters when things aren't going well so i can throw it in their faces when things turn around.

it's so easy to just ignore people. it's the first rule of the internet. but no one ever does. so be it.

obviously, people are in a kind of shock about all of this, and it really needs to be ironed out. hence this thread. but i have to say i am really kind of surprised at lyon's position in this matter. i really thought he would rise above the fray. i have no idea why he is supporting lb so vehemently. so what if people don't post write-ups or have five page reasons for their plays--that's their style.

i really have a lot of respect for your capping ability lyon, but i'm somewhat taken aback by your stance on all this. no i don't know the entire story, but so what. edify me. let's lay it all out. let's get this shit hashed out and over with, and then it will be back to business as usual.

now as far as goat is concerned, a lot of people here don't know this all started as soon as goat registered on this forum. he was childish, immature, and attacked and ridiculed people just for attention. he was warned and even asked politely to stop, but he wouldn't. his ego was so damn big, and he thought he was so damn smart he just had to invade every thread that got lots of view to spew his venom, brilliance and nonsense--and he wouldn't stop.

posting your plays and thoughts are fine, but when you're out and out trolling enough is enough. i was the first to call him out for his bullshit, and then paco got on the bandwaggon. paco got sick of his shit too, and they really had it out. but then they got all kissy face and sort of made up. then he and lb got into it and they made up. but goat always started back up again--always--and he went on and on and on and wouldn't stop. and he was such a damn obnoxious know-it-all. the fact of the matter is that know-it-alls don't really know "all" that much. it never hurts to be humble once in a while. yes, i'm sure he is a fine human being and loves kids and animals. so why not act that way? why don't
people grow up?

and paco you're not entirely innocent in all of this. i did see some of those jabs you took at lb and lyon, but to be honest, because i don't read your thread i didn't see (and I'm sure there were) the jabs lb took at you. and yes we all understand you have lots of money and feel a need to show us videos of cars and cash and guns and whatever, but it really doesn't make a damn bit of difference how much money a perrson has or how much you may or may not bet on sporting events. your unit size is your own personal business, and any time someone asks me the size of my unit i tell them it's eight and a half inches.

lyon, congratulations on your two 30x plays (orlando and miami) that won nicely. i know you understand (more than most) two of the most important concepts in handicapping--motivation and matchup--your big plays usually come when you suspect that one team is much more motivated than the other and that the matchup is more of a mismatch than anything else. so go back to your thread and pick lots of winners.

all of that drivel aside, i still think the colts was the right play and i'm really sorry for everyone who got such a horrible, unlucky ending to what would have been a great call, because if you had none of this drama would have ever unfolded. at least not in the forseeable future.
