And back then she was probably smoking cigarettes without filters. Pure chemical right to the lungs. How long it manifest' itself in someone is anybodys guess. Like SG said, I think it depends on genetics.

Sorry to hear that your Grandmother went like that. It's a horrible way to go. Two of my grandparents(both were smokers) died from emphysema and that wasn't pretty to watch.

Well, it's been said by many scientists that once a smoker has been cig free for 15 years or so, they're lungs have regenerated back to a healthy state.

We were lucky with my grandma in a way. Her cancer took her quickly. She passed within 4 weeks of us finding out she had it. I ONLY say we were "lucky" because my aunt battled breast cancer (which spread all over her body) for almost 10 years. It was hell watching her suffer for that long and getting our hopes up each time she went into remission.

Perhaps if you would learn to park that giant gas guzzling penis compensation device, you wouldn't have that problem. I drive a brand new car, baby...and it's no Cavalier. And IF my car looks a little dirty, it's because I work 55 hours a week, not because I smoke.
