golf isn't a sport, but if you play a real sport, professionally, i believe it makes you an athlete.

after 6 beers you should be making your way to the 2nd hole. On the course, SG, on the course.

Come on now, Mo. Golf is a sport. It may not be as intense phsycally as football, basket ball, etc...but it requires a lot of practice and skill to be any good.

agreed. chris moneymaker and john daily should open their own fitness center and turn us all into athletes.

to be an athlete you have to be able to do something athletic that the average person can not. not something 'skillful' that the average person can not.

because he mastered a skill. there are guys on tv who hit the golf ball like 500 yards, they have a skill. im sure daly couldnt hit a baseball 48 feet.

how do you figure? all a pantload has to do is stand somewhere else and hit it. stand at the tee, stand in the sand, stand in tall grass, stand on the green and give one swing and walk to where ever you ball ends up. skill, then walking. its like if a chess player had to walk 200 yards between moves.

What an "athlete". You get to have someone stand next to you after every shot and tell you what club to use, how far it is to the pin, and how hard and from what direction the wind is blowing. And on top of all that, they carry all your heavy shit for you.

Its like saying that NASCAR is a Sport. I would list poker, NASCAR, Golf all under Competition, Like Curling. IMO sports are when there is 2 teams that can determine the outcome of a game when both teams are on the field/court at the same time, i.e. baseball, football, hockey.

IMO sports are when there is 2 teams that can determine the outcome of a game when both teams are on the field/court at the same time, i.e. baseball, football, hockey.

                                                              track and swimming are sports.

Isenhour was with a film crew for "Shoot Like A Pro" on Dec. 12 at the Grand Cypress Golf course. The 39-year-old golfer, whose real name is John Henry Isenhour III, was charged Monday with cruelty to animals and killing a migratory bird.
According to court documents, Isenhour got upset when a red-shouldered hawk began making noise, forcing another take. He began hitting balls at the bird, then 300 yards away, but gave up.
Isenhour started again when the hawk moved within about 75 yards, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer Brian Baine indicated in a report.
