What a bunch of hypocrites. Against wasteful spending and big government...then turn around and add 1 billion to the debt with their earmarks.
That didn't take long... Tea Party Caucus takes 1 Billion in earmarks

#5Good to see Haines still around, thought for sure after seeing her post about K Korea's imminent attack on the U.S. that she'd fled to the north with her/his knife in hand to help them kill us all....and Kim Jong's son had taken her in as a pet since the artillery barrage 2 weeks ago.
False alarm, Emily....but sure you'll get your chance to fight us off one day.Comment -

Like you have a clue what kind of fight they have in them.
you should move to N Korea

#8reminds me of a guy who spent two years criticizing an administration's policies, then made his slogan "change we can believe in", and then continued those very same policies.

the US lost every major war since WWII
the US is losing the fight in Afghanistan
the N. Koreans attacked and sank an ally sub and bombed an S. Korean island, what did we do..........told them not to do that again

#13Banning ear marks is something Congress needs to pass. This is the view of the TP. Until then, they are justified in ear-marking as well. It is after all - how they get re-elected. Their home state/district re-elects them, not the country. Can you wrap your head around this???
It is not like the abortion issue, where hypocrisy could be leveled against them if they too were having abortions and encouraging their kids to do so...It is a rule change they are in favor of. Everyone needs to buy in, or what's the point?
An analogy. Colts are in favor of less contact/holding after 5 yards by the Defense. Especially after playing the Patriots....In league meetings they vote for this and are ready to abide.
If this does not pass, they are not morally obligated to play like pansies on defense and give opposing Offenses free reign merely to be viewed as un-hypocritical. Those are the rules, then they will play by them -and hold, bump and grab away.Comment -

There is a difference in offensive force as well on the strategic level Emily....N Korea would be okay with just launching ICBMs randomly....so would Iran, Russia, China, anyone who gets their hands on the stuff fro India/Pak......the U.S., on the other hand, chooses the possibility of sacrifice of soldiers in order to maintain a level of humanity towards the other population....don't expect you to understand. I've been to both OIF and OEF and by no means agree with the decisions that have been made at times....but it's a better outcome than simply erasing those nations off the map for good as we could easily do in a 10 day period. Think about that....Comment -

For one, what part of restraint on the part of our military as opposed to the opposition did you not grasp from the previous post?
And second...you are forgetting Obama has extended operations into Pakistan....continued deployments for Afghanistan for the next few years...and didn't you see the Wikileaks exposure of U.S. using Tomahawk cruise missiles into Yemen recently and covered it up by lying and saying it wasn't ours that killed the civilians...and let's not forget rendition is still going on, as well new inmates being brought to Gitmo.....so how exactly have things changed? Please enlighten us?Comment -

#22The Tea Party took earmarks? Does this surprise anyone? Government officials are all full of shit. I vote Democrat because they're the lesser of two (three now I guess) evils, but I still don't' expect them to actually do anything productive or stand behind everything they say. I voted for Obama knowing he wouldnt' accomplish everything he accomplished, simply because his intentions were still better than McCain's.Comment -

16 different tea party caucus members did NOT take one penny in earmarks. How many democratic politicians can say the same?tea party is a joke and that is why they got their ass kicked in the electionthe american people saw through their nonsense
Here's a NEWSFLASH for you Emily:The only party that got their asses kicked in the election was the DEMOCRATIC PARTY AS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SAW THROUGH THEIR NONSENSE.
Liberal goons across the country are whining about some Tea party members taking earmarks when their beloved democrats have been taking BILLIONS of dollars worth of earmarks for decades.

Will that episode being with "2010 was suppose to be the year of a new world peace ushered in, we were told to elect this little black boy who grew up in Indonesia and became a success story of the American dream, and the world would love us and drop their hatred, the economy would thrive, all wars would end, your bills would be paid for you if you were in the ghetto and did not want to pay them yourself, he could spend $1 trillion dollars and at the same time unemployment would go lower even though the jobs never came to fruition, Washington D.C. would become a friendly and non-political battleground as he swept into office...."Comment -

#35The "proper" tea party was NOT represented. Rand Paul would fit into that category, however (libertarian).
The rest were funded by MONSTER TX oil and Neocon money (Dick Armey even said so much, as he was a 'grass roots' person supporting the tea party. If you think the tea party is 'grass roots', you're really ignorant. They PAY knuckleheads like Palin to speak for dickloads of cash per appearence - at least more than I've made per year in my life (for just one speaking engagement).
The "tea party" was hijacked as a way for people to vote neocons back into office.
Of course, since no one follows the money but votes by party (NOT saying Dems are better - but they DO try to help us NON millionaires out), of COURSE these things will happen.
The Neocon is not dead. They could give a rats ass about the working poor and are stalling congress to make sure the super rich don't have to pay more taxes.
The thing that pisses me off most, is politics REQUIRES us to get mad about them - but they do NOTHING to let us participate in them.
If one of us tried to take office, we'd get sniffed out as 'degenerate gamblers', making us unelectable.
This country is founded on making sure schleps like us have to come up with something brilliant like the 'snuggie' to have a decent living - whilst they spend more money on dinner than most of us will make in a week at a proper job.
No matter how we vote, we're f'd - but voting Republican if you're not a millionaire is about the dumbest thing you can do... But again, if you watch fox news for 'news', then you're already a brainwashed moron that cannot think on his own. You deserve your servtitude towards your master.Comment
