I'm surprised nobody has mentioned "wheel clocking" as a way to get an edge. If you can determine the speed of the wheel, you can determine the approximate location of where the ball will land via physics equations that can be programmed into a computer. With this info you can only bet the numbers in that area of the wheel, and play with a huge advantage over the house. It's now illegal to use computers in this manner in Vegas, but the physics haven't changed any. There is a book titled "The Eudaemonic Pie" about a group of physicists who did this in the early '80s. A guy who I know quite well from poker was actually part of a team that splintered off from the Euaemonic Pie team. He's a pretty active poster on poker forums and he'd probably be willing to post some details of the team. He's told me some stories of wheel clocking in Europe and they're pretty wild.

but that doesn't mean much any more, if you have $1,000,000 in the bank making 3% interest that's only 30k/year - after taxes it adds 20k/year or so of income, hardly enough to pay medical expenses for a family and certainly nothing close to enough to retire on.

It hasn't happened to me yet, but I have figured out a way to combat that somewhat. For monetary purposes, let's use my craps example. It's been so successful over and over again, that if you do go down $1000 at any point in time for example, just stop, write it off as a loss, and start over. You're likely pulling in a good 8-9K for every time you'd ever have to resort to this, so you can keep your long term profits in tact.

And like I said before, when you make that jump from 48.6% to the 55-65% range, it really is night and day. I can't remember the last time I had a line that was more than ten numbers long.

the best advice in this is to stop the system at $1000 or so and start over, no way of losing 20k in a hurry that way! i still think if you did any of these systems a billion times they wouldn't stand up to math/statistics but on that we'll agree to disagree.
