boys, no one loves xmas more than me. i sing carols 24/7 from oct till jan each day. i know the songs by heart. i love frosty, love rudolph and i still love santa..

but i swear it's nov 16th and i have yet to see one commercial for xmas.. i have yet to hear one xmas song.. never has it ever gone this late before. it always starts nov 1st, latest...usually when in malls, they play them from nov 1st on. i was at mall today and didn't hear one. i toured all the italian area today by car for 25 min and didn't see 1 xmas light in front of the house.

i am fearing the worst. i don't want to see xmas end, because i've got tons of fond memories.. but i think it's over boys. people just don't have the cash anymore and people have lost the spirit for xmas.

i wish i lived in the 50's and 60's when xmas meant something and all families were together roasting chestnuts on an open fire while singing carols together and opening gifts. i think those days are way behind us now and OVER.. very sad for me..

I think there is less enthusiasm about Christmas than years ago because educators, media, and our society in general have told us that "Christ" is offensive. People lack backbone these days as well, and are more than ever willing to "go with the flow." 25 years ago it was normal to sing the pledge of allegiance too.

Dude store's can't even say Merry Christmas and more.
They have to say Happy holiday's for fear of insulting,offending or some other shit towards immigrants who don't celebrate Christmas. Thats what is ruining Christmas.A couple of years ago in Toronto There was a Christmas (sorry Holiday tree) in a government building and our own courts ordered it to be Taken down so people who don't celebrate would'nt be offended. Funny thing is when It made the papers People thought it was Muslims or jews complying about it, when infarct there were no complaints, they were just taking precautions in case. 1. The story behind christmas is like the story how chistopher columbus discovered america.

2. Last year 3 store employees I read of were trampled to death, granted that was on black friday but it was for Xmas sales.

People complain that Christmas became too commercial, now they whine that Christmas is dying because they don't see any commercials on TV.

For the churchies, it's supposed to be a minor holiday anyway (Easter being the big one). For non religious types, it's about family and traditions.

Put my lights up this past weekend and I've seen commercials (best buy) for over a week. All is fine in ho-ho land.

I don't know about you guys but when I was a kid I got NOTHINGGGGGGG for 364 days a year, if my parents were ever going to buy me something I wanted that cost more than 50 bucks I had to wait for Christmas. Remember the lame duck time from like the middle of December when you were off school but had to wait until Christmas to get that Video Game you already knew you were getting? Awful.

Kids now a days are spoiled rotten. Wait for a gift? Ha!

Plus I agree this country is becoming LESS religious, LESS family oriented, and MORE politically correct. It's not Christmas, it's Holiday because we might offend the 3% Muslims in this country. You don't like it, go back to your sand box and play nice.

it was great. nobody knew anyone, yet we all said merry christmas to one another. people were so happy to be alive back then.. today, no one says merry christmas to you anymore. people are so stressed.. people don't seem happy like they did back in the days. life seemed simpler back then. today people have changed. people seem angrier.

I am not a Christian but I liked the Holidays as a kid, as I got older they just became more hassle & I think a lot of the younger generation like myself feel the same way & it just gets worse as it goes. I'm 34, but even at 19 & 20 xmas was still fun, now I couldnt give a fuk less.

These 18-24 year old kids of this generation probably feel about it like I do now and the cycle continues. No one gives a fuk, Nicky. Unless you have kids its basically just a stupid fukin holiday. And if you have kids you make up more lies to tell them about magical people that sneak in your house & raid your fukin fridge. Some really sick shit all the way around

Haven't heard that perspective before...every time I hear someone complain about the timing of Christmas, it's that all the advertising, sales, Christmas songs on the radio, etc. start too EARLY.

I hate shopping with a passion and worse is doing it for someone else. Id rather just relax around some good food on the holidays and no one buy anything for anyone, make it much easier. Of course if you got kids thats one thing but I honestly dont even like being asked what I want for christmas, no one ever wants to just give you the money and rarely some will do giftcards.
