The people didnt vote on whether we wanted that stupid shit on our money. It was made a law in 1955 it had to be put on money, and then added to our pledge of allegiance.

You have McCarthy to thank for all that

maybe the reason its said to take 46+billion years for it to happen is because in that amount of time it takes for the mathematical odds to be relevant. not claiming to take any sides just this whole evolution process seems more far fetched than any other human existence theories. Even aliens making humans sounds more plausible, at least there is clips on small evidence of them
evolution is certainly true beyond just being an assertion of fact, I would say its more certain than heliocentricity, genetics and chemistry has proven so over the last 50-60 years, especially with Watson and Crick and their double helix structure of genetic material

4.6 billion years is an approximation (with an error of maybe 100 million years) based on various calculations using radioactive decay (atoms lose particles that deteriorate over time at a predictable rate), geology, and the mutation rate of genes of eukaryotic cells (a cell with membrane, chromosone, mitochrondria, basically everything that isn't bacteria, such as people) which evolved about 3 billion years after the original RNA replicator

ironically 4.6 billion years is around the half-life, basically the rate of radioactive decay of a particular nuclide into another element, of uranium-238 into the isotope throrium-234 (90 protons, 144 neutrons). in nature thorium exists predominantly as thorium-232 and is abundant in the earth's crust

this is just based on what i've read in passing while researching the structure of evolutionary theory, so i'm not sure of the exact measures involved in radioactivity and what not, but that's primarily the gist of it

what is yet theorized though still falsifiable (unlike the notion of god or supernatural beings), are some of the primary mechanisms of evolution and its rate of change, and how the original RNA molecule manifested into life

but what RNA and DNA essentially are is just a bonding of the primary components of life -- carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen (think CHON) -- engaged by some sort of energy source (perhaps the sun or immense heat), so some random life source generated by a happy accident is easy to fathom

even if it seems virtually improbable, maybe 1 in a 100 billion, that would mean for the around 100 billion galaxies theorized to exist in our universe, every other galaxy would contain life, and we are obviously one of them because we are here talking about it

1)How is garbage like this and Paco's Muslim thread kept in PT while taboo, news threads are moved to "General Discussion"?

2)Most of the people in here slamming pronk said nothing to Paco and his equally dumb Muslim thread. It's less politically incorrect to slam Christians. Expected.

Paco showed some dumbass who converted from fairy tale to another, we all know Paco is a little touched, but he is a useful person here who doesnt judge & asks us all to just think outside the box, even though his thinking & mine or yours may be different, he is far from an idiot & an asset to our forum & someone you can learn something from. What he discusses & posts is usually because of something intolerant that has been posted & its to make us all think.

This fuk is just posting doctored youtube videos of the dumbest shit ever & trying to explain how the biggest atheists ever are christians. Basically a kid with too much time on his hands, he better be studying his biology & math because I have a feeling this genius will be working at home depot when he gets outta high school

These so-called scientists are unable to explain even how the DNA chain of a tiny bacterium originated! Evolutionists try to deliver messages such as "human genes resemble animal genes." Such messages are inaccurate and have no scientific value. They are designed to mislead simpletons like this roach profit.

Right. So science can't explain it, but the book written two thousand years ago by a bunch of desert dwellers and goat herders can.

I don't care about religion one way or the other. But when you idiots start to reject modern science, you deserve nothing less than to be treated with ridicule and absolutely zero respect. I treat your claims the same way I treat someone who tells me about a rabbit who sh!ts emeralds.

Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree. Makes perfect sense.

                                                reminded me of a story

i was in a car with a couple once and we started talking about the landscape in WV and I mentioned how the glaciers did great work. The guy looked at me all confused and said "we dont believe in all the glacial stuff, god created this earth."

I just kept my mouth shut because it was a long car ride.

This undeniable proof of satanic abuse completely contradicts evolutionist theory. On other hand admitting there's a Supreme Being automatically puts them in a very uncomfortable position- accountability for their own actions before God.

Evolutionists say there are 15 million insect species, 2 million marine species, more millions of bird and animal species. Yet, only one- humans - developed language. If evolution is true - that species evolve continually higher and better - why haven't other species developed language?

What caused human beings to be the only “kind” to have a lumbar curve in their lower backbone, enabling us to stand and sit in an upright position, and carry heavy loads while walking?

If evolution - and its survival of the fittest is true - why didn't the fastest runner, highest flyer, fastest fish, or the specie that produces the most offspring, or the specie that is the largest and strongest, evolve to dominate and wipe out their competitors?

If evolution were a fact, then humans at the top of the evolution process should be the most advanced of all the species in all areas.

Neo Darwinists have yet to propose a solid theory for the beginning of life. What environment and mixture of minerals, water, sunlight, temperature and atmosphere caused the first living cell to develop?

No one can answer what is the original cause of the relative positioning of the sun, moon and earth.

Why humans don’t have eyes on the back of their heads so we can see enemies from behind, like insects can?

Random mutation, the heart of Darwin's theory, has been shown to be severely limited in evolving new functional genes. There is no known example of the formation of a new species.
The slow steps of evolution through selection cannot explain the irreducible complexity of the 40-piece rotary motor in the bacterial flagellum. If just one part of the motor is not in place, the motor won't work.

Darwin said, "If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down."

How did the sexes come to be?

What was in the beginning? If the universe was entirely empty space except for a small mass of matter that created the universe by spontaneously exploding and steadily expanding throughout empty space. What caused that small mass of matter to explode?
Why there is order in all of creation? How did nothing create everything? Why does every sane person have a conscience?

Which came first--the chicken or the egg?

Scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology in Tubingen, Germany, and Indiana University in Bloomington have now been able to measure for the first time directly the speed with which new mutations occur in plants. Their findings shed new light on a fundamental evolutionary process. They explain, for example, why resistance to herbicides can appear within just a few years.
