Also no longer can insurance companies not insure children just because they're overweight as babies or have a pre existing condition! How would you feel if the hospital told your mom to go home and die because the insurance company will no longer pay? Or if you child is ill and needs a special treatment or operation and they won't cover your kid because they know he's already sick! That's the kind of shit the republican party wants to repeal, why, because rich ass insurance lobbyists have paid republicans millions and own them like pawns!

I don't think it's the government's job to bailout businesses like GM. What if it didn't work? who's left with the tab? If they need help, they go get a loan from a bank like every other business. Where where they for all the thousands of other businesses that went under? What makes them GOD to decide who we bailout and who we let the free market dictate survival?

Healthcare, yes not everything in it is bad as you correctly pointed out but if it is so wonderful, by did he lie about holding debates live on c-span and turn around and rush the bill behind closed doors excluding the GOP? I think if it was a great bill, that both sides would have supported it.

Ron Paul has a couple of good ideas but he is never going to get the support he needs to be a major player. Palin sorta reminds me of a female version of W without the family tree that can get you any position you want. I thought her quitting was weak but for her and her family, she is making a lot more money being on tv and going to rallies than she would've been making in Alaska.

Keep in mind the Govt created subprime Lending and forced the Govt Sponsored enterprises (Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae)to lower their Underwriting standards to put "underserved people" in homes they could not afford. This was main cause of the recession. We need balance between Govt and the private sector. Govt in every Industry puts out volumes of regulations that they do not even understand, they provide little guidance, and selectively enforce the regulation partly based on political contributions. When their regulation fails ie. Banks, offshore drilling. Instead of clarify and enforcing and do some tweaking, they come out with an entire new set of regulations that they do not even undestand and the cycle continues.
