#38Unfortunately it is going down
WTF! Odds were 3 to 2 in favor of Prop 19 2 weeks ago and now it's down 55 to 45.
Either this election was rigged or California is full of lots of dumb fucks. Maybe both.Comment -

#43That's fuckin' selfish. If it passed in California then other states wold follow suit and other countries too. Not to mention how important Hemp is. Also people on trips to California would buy and toke up.Comment -

#45Its easy to motivate those who want to stifle the liberties of others.
Put a vote to make offshore betting a jailable crime - it passes.
Put a vote to make smoking anywhere outside your house illegal, it'll pass.
Put a vote to ban interracial marriage (it won't pass, but it would have as recently as 1985 when support for interracial marriage was at 44%. I bet you'd still see 20-30% voting to ban it)
Civil rights would never have passed if it had come up for a yes/no citizenry vote.Comment -

#46Like Illini said, it's so easy to get as it is. You can roll down to the Venice boardwalk and get a recommendation in 5 minutes, walk 20 feet down the way and get all the chron you want.
The problem with the proposition is that it didn't spell out exactly how it would be taxed. As soon as someone writes one that gives a bunch of weed taxes to schools, it will pass.
Also the way to make money on medical pot is to grow it yourself and sell it to a collective. In most counties, the current law allows you to grow a specific number of plants.Comment -

Even if it passed it would probably be overturned. In California the people's vote doesn't count for much.Comment -

#57Prop 19 did not pass
Stupid fuckin' Californians!
Morons in San Francisco also re-elected shithead Nancy Pelosi over a much better candidate: John Dennis.
Dennis is pro-Cannabis legalization while Pelosi would not take a stand
Dennis want's out of Afghanistan, Iraq, and most of the countries of the world where we have bases, I can assure you that Nancy does not.
Dennis thinks gays should be able to serve only in the military and thinks gays have as much right to Marry as straights. That should be right up SF's alley. Nancy Pelosi hates gays in comparison.

#63i really thought this was gonna pass cuz california is really cash-strapped and really high unemployment. If prop 19 would've passed thats alot of new jobs, alot of tourism, alot of tax dollars going to the state. It's a win-win but it still failed.....

#70It was very surprising to see this prop lose by such a large number when the Liberals were winning everything else in California. If it did not win this time, it will never win. Most of the Liberal propositions lost. It shows the stupidity of the California Voters. They vote for the Liberals who want to spend their money, but aginst any proposition that would spend money.
