I've long felt that journeyman outfielder Jim Dwyer had the best quote on all of this: "The Hall of Fame is for baseball people; heaven is for good people."

If it was left up to just me, I'd acknowledge him as a Hall of Famer and hang a plaque like everyone else, but never hold an official induction ceremony for him, at least deny him the limelight that way while still recognizing him for his baseball talent.

Willie is right. But Pete is such a low life. Ever since I saw that movie on him on HBO {I think), him coming out with a book, and hanging out at the Forum Shops peddling autographs(nobody in sight) I've lost all respect for him.

There's information out there putting Clemens using Roids back in Toronto. Granted, he was likely a HOF pitcher at that point, he did something that screwed with the integrity of the game.

Dude - I'm a SOX fan and I remember the lightning he brought to us - back in 86 - 2nd year... he was always a big texas boy, bar fighter - a hoss. The way I remember him he is HOF material... Cheaters don't belong, plain and simple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you let them in then the hall will be meaningless. The guy is a obvious cheat and he is too proud to admit it and come clean just like other dirtbags like Barry Bonds and Mark "the human roid" McGwire. That is why they were shunned from the game. It will take 100 years for those players to even get considered because people won't forget them getting caught red handed and instead of saying "yes" I took steroids they continue to live in their own little world and lie about it and that my friends is the reason people still and will always have a bad taste in their mouth about this era in baseball. America is a forgiving nation and if these players would have fessed up then everyone could have moved on but no, they have to continue to slap baseball and fans in the face by acting like they didn't do anything wrong.
