9.5 is LOWER than it should be this season because of Texas's reputation. Fact is that Nebraska has one of the best teams in the country this year and the Texas offense has done much of anything all season. Then there is the little matter of REVENGE for the Big 12 Championship Game last year, when the Texas team was much better than this year's version.

Texas may be 3-2 but their real lost is only to UCLA. Oklahoma only won by 8 points...

Nebraska is a top 5 team. They win easily this week, and win out until they meet Oklahoma in the Big 12 conference championship game. I think they win that game as well, but it won't be easy.

Lord knows how much havoc they wreak in the Big Ten next year.

Texas has my lean right now. It's freakin TEXAS and 10 points. Texas and Mack Brown don't lose three in a row. If they are going to, it will come with a fight, it will come down to the 4th quarter. The more I think about it, the more I love Texas

All over this game. Texas has looked piss poor all year, and their run defense is laughable. I agree with LT that Nebraska has huge revenge in this game after getting fuked last year against Texas. Nebraska is a really strong team that is still not getting the respect they deserve. Wouldn't be surprised to see them win by 3 td's. Texas is getting to much credit IMO.

i think the game will be close...i hope nebraska wins the game though...they tend to do something stupid at the last second against texas over and over!!

Losing by 8 is not a REAL LOSS? A loss is a loss.. Especially since they were down 28-10 in the 4th quarter??

As a Husker fan..... I've tried all week to come up with reasons to take Texas. Texas cant lose 3 in a row..... Texas has always played the Huskers close..... Texas had a bye week coming into this week......

BUT the fact remains.... Nebraska is better than Texas on offense, defense and special teams. I heard a reporter from Austin the other day..... and he said that this team is just lacking the talent that the previous Texas teams had. He said the offensive line that blocked for Colt is now in the NFL and the offensive line they have now are the guys that werent good enough to start last year.

Nebraska held Texas to 13 points last year. Last year we didnt have an offense and Texas had Colt McCoy and company. This year we have an offense. Our defense is almost as good as last year (but if you ask Bo he says its better)

Texas got off to a quick start against Texas Tech scoring 14 points in the first 7 minutes. But then they only managed 10 more points? Against a team that let Iowa State hang 52 on them?

Texas got BEAT by OU. Down 28-10 in the 4th quarter until a couple of late scores made it interesting. OU has let 4 opponents score late to make it interesting this year. NOthing new there.

Nebraska fans have had this game circled for 6 months. In our mind it's the biggest game of the year. (in reality, Missouri is the biggest game because if we lose that one we dont even play in the Big 12 championship game) Nebraska wants revenge on the screw job we got in the Big 12 championship game last year. We want revenge on the last 7 CLOSE losses we have had to Texas. Nebraska wants to end their stay at the Big 12 with a Texas ass kicking and then play OU for the last Big 12 Championship.

Bo has had this team ready for each "big game" this season. The Huskers played well in Washington and in Manhattan. Now it's time for them to have a great home game in front of 80,000 in red.

Husker fans will be loud this game. The hatred for Texas is so huge here. After listening to sports talk all week I ALMOST believe if we beat Texas 77-3 and the LOST THE REST OF OUR GAMES the fans would still be happy.

I know my name says that I'm a homer. I am. I've tried all week to come up with ONE LEGIT reason to take Texas. I cant.

Texas earned its pre-season ranking by reputation and the outcome of last year's season. Unfortunately for them, this is not last year's team.

Forget the fact that it's Texas for a moment, and just look at the stats (particularly rush defense.) It's not pretty. UCLA is a mediocre team at best, and they Texas couldn't stop them.

Nebraska is looking to follow-up their impressive win over a mediocre K. State team, and this is just that opportunity.

Ask yourself who wins the game, and you should come up with Nebraska as the answer. If you believe that's the case, then winning by a TD isn't out of the question. This line is geared for you to take Texas to stay within a TD and a FG.

Don't be a sucker. Texas was dominated by a slightly better than average OU team, after being dominated by an average UCLA team. Bye or no, college football is all about momentum.

Nebraska has it, Texas doesn't, and they're at Nebraska.

Take Nebraska -9.5, and enjoy your Saturday. You'll come back to a nice profit.

By the way, I work for UT, and have seen enough of their teams over the past decade to know when they're all hype. This is one of those years.

i think nebraska will win but cant see them covering the spread. I'm not going to iie, I haven't seen Nebraska play more than once this year, but what I saw was that their qb is not going to b able to pass on this texas defense. And I would guess that this will be the fastest and most physical defense that braska will face up to this point in the season. Martinez isn't going to be able to run past all of these guys easily like he has so far this season. And of course, everyone is on braska. Texas it is

Burm - Hopefully Nebraska doesn't have to pass at all against Texas. They only threw the ball 7 times vs. K-State. Who cares how good their pass defense is if the Huskers can gain 7 yards per carry running the ball? Texas has a great secondary no doubt. But by the time the running backs (or Martinez) get to the secondary, the chains are ready to be moved. There definately won't be as many 40+ yard carries in this game as there were last week, but I still think the Huskers roll by 17. Neb 37 Texas 20

Just signed up here because I saw many of you taking the Huskers, I would have to say that there are better plays this Saturday. Nebraska hasnt faced a rush defense like this yet, kansas state and washington are like close to 100 in the nation if not over. Texas will put many guys in the box and make martinez pass, and he has not looked good passing. I personally would leave this game alone, it's always a close one. I do agree the Huskers seem to be better this year and poised for something big but I would not bet them on there first true test of the year until we see how they respond. Just my 2 cents.

I heard this before the Washington game and the K-State game! And if 5-0 Nebraska rolls the 3-2 Longhorns, we'll hear "Well Texas wasn't that good! Wait until they arrive in Stillwater!"

I don't bet on Nebraska because my heart always gets in the way of my brain! But how many more times are we gonna hear "first true test" takes? I'm beginning to feel like a Boise State fan!

I'm a husker fan through and through as well - which is why I'm NOT betting this game. There's enough emotion in it for me that I don't need to get money involved! And as stated above, even if they make us throw the ball, we've got two ready and waiting QBs that can do that; one of which was our starter for all of 2009.
