Haha For anyone that actually likes to bet games based on actual football knowledge and not just silly line movements based on public opinion.....Jets are the right play here. NY Jets are one of the top defenses in the NFL period. They can also easily be a 5-0 team instead of 4-1 team had they opened up the playbook against Baltimore in week 1. Also they have won 5 straight road games dating back to last year as well so playing on the road isn't a factor. And guess what.....the Broncos are a bad team defensively against the run and guess what the Jets do really well? You got it....they run. Jets (-3) all day here. (This "sharp -square" nonsense more ludicrous than this thread.)

I dont know how anyone can claim the Broncos are the right play. Thats just a statement to have something to fall back on. "The Broncos lost, but they were the right play."

The Jets have shown nothing to make you think they are slowing up. Theyre getting healthier at CB and their running game looks better than it did at any point (minus playoffs) last year. Mark Sanchez is playing very well, and already has shown good timing for Holmes. You cannot dispute they are heads and shoulders above the Broncos in all aspects.

What have the Broncos shown us? That they are better than we thought they would be....therefore they may win 6 games. I was all over the Broncos on their last upset with Tennessee....and this one doesnt feel the same at all. Jets all day here.

Bronocos +3 (-125) first half is the right play. Jets have covered 7 straight halves of games starting with the 2nd half of the new england patroits game. Broncos are goin to cover one of the halves of this game. I am not sure if it is goin to be the first half or the 2nd half. Jets streak is goin to end soon. I am thinking it is goin to be the first half. SOme books do not want action on the dog (broncos) at the half. This is why the spread is broncos +3 (-125). Books will not drop the spread to broncos +2.5. Books are trying to discourage action on the broncos in the first half. You would have to lay more wood on the broncos (-125) to win less money. I would still take the broncos at +2.5 first half but the odds would be better at -110. IF books do drop the first half spread to +2.5, the books will continue to see a lot of action on the broncos in the first half. Books will keep the spread at +3 (-125). SOme books have the broncos +3 (-130). Laying more wood on the home dog in the first half is just a way for the books to dscourage action on the home dog. ANy thoughts on why books do this.

Broncos get to come back to some home cooking this week and nothing is worse for a east coast team than playing in the mile high city at 4pm EST. Broncos as home dogs is one of the most profitable bets in the NFL the last 20 + years and it already lost once this year when the colts won in Denver as big faves so i dont see tha happening two times in a row. The Jets are of course now a big public darling and the pubes are all over them with less rest. Broncos come up big here and pull out the win.

This spot clearly favors Broncos. Short week, long travel, altitude, emotional let down after 3 division games and monday night game. Brincos ave 8.1 yards per pass and Jets are giving up over 7. Not what you would expect from top defense. Jets give up way too many big plays and third and longs.

However, some angles favor Jets. Jets +11 t/o ratio and Jets strong run 5.1 yards per carry against below average run defense. If Jets can manage to not turn bal over they should squeek out a win.

I think all the mile high hype is something that will affect the line. I think you all will learn soon enough that this time around it won't affect the game. Jets take this with ease.

For a team that passes a lot, the Broncos can't score that well. Too many people are looking at Orton's high passing yardage and popping a boner, when the Bronco's offense has been average (15th overall in scoring). The Jets defense struggles against complete offenses, not one-dimensional ones. Keep in mind that the Jets were #1 in passing defense last year. I could go on and on about how this game favors the Jets. One less day of rest and playing in mile-high stadium won't keep the Jets from winning by more than 3.
