    Problems with SBR Poker?
First of all, thank you to SBR for the free poker tourneys. They are a lot of fun, and it is great to see many of the guys playing.

The only issue---and I wasn't the only one----is that I get kicked off every 4-6 minutes. I know others have had this issue because we were chatting about it at my table last night.

    Anyone else having this problem?

Being a computer knucklehead-----is there something I could be running that causes it? I usually have the ESPN college game running via stream or a netflix movie while I am playing.

Thanks again, and I appreciate the answers.

To seriously answer you question, close any applications you have and see if that helps. Are you on a land line or wireless? The netflix movie could eat up a lot of bandwidth. I was having trouble loading it the other day and had to reinstall the entire thing.

I haven't ever had any disconnection problems though.

I was playing the other day and had the same problem. Was disconnected at a minimum every 5 minutes, probably more often. I wasn't running anything else besides had a few browser windows open that were not refreshing or streaming anything. I'm running on wireless, but play Bodog poker all the time and never have disconnection problems.

The disconnection problem fuked me over multiple times where I had a strong hand and then get folded because of the disconnect and lose all of the points I have in the pot. Another time the software freezes after the guy I'm going heads up against pushes all in. When I reconnect I find that I "auto-called" or something and lost all my points.

Love the poker idea, but I'm not heading back until it gets more stable.

A player at my table complained about getting a "socket error" message.

Thanks for all your reports. We are close but there is still some important work to do.

            If you had a disconnect problem please report it now;

Give the techs today to look at your play and server logs and will get it fixed.

I got disconnected over 30x myself yesterday. I thought it was my wireless service so i signed on my land line and still had the same problem. Got disconnected in the middle of a hand when I had the nuts and was trying to milk the pot. Im sure they are already working on it.

Fun times, came in the money yesterday.

                Thank you John

I failed to mention that. That is the exact message I was getting as well.

Thanks again. I told you guys I am knucklehead, I suppose it would have been helpful to include that info.

I wasn't getting any errors, it just kept disconnecting and then would usually return me within 30 seconds or so. I was playing on 9/29 around 9-10PM. Obviously the disconnect problem is a major deal, but would be interested to know why it auto-called for me one of the times I got disconnected.

I was getting the socket error and the game would freeze up when I was connected wirelessly. The next tourney I played in, I connected straight to my cable modem - I didn't have any more issues.

it disconnects about every ten minutes, just not worth playing and losing any points until its fixed

I was constantly getting DC'd so i got ahold of LOU in Live help...he had me run some test, and then he told me there was no record of me disconnecting. Anyhow i disconnect every 5-6 minutes as well probably and don't think ill participate in poker until its fixed. Its just too annoying.

The problem as it seems to be now is that not all reports of disconnects are confirmed by the software. Some are, and some don't show up on the radar. There's still a lot of progress that needs to be made in that end.

must have "Administrator" privileges for poker update

You have to have "Administrator" privileges for the update to install successfully. If it can't install then it keeps trying because it's out of date.

If you're not logged in to an Administrator account, you can right-click on the SBR Poker icon and select "run as..." and then select an account with "Administrator" privileges.

Also, you can always download and install the latest version from www.sbrforum.com/poker

Thanks for reporting this to us. The problem could be anywhere between your PC and the SBR poker servers. We're currently testing the bandwidth at our data center to see what we can do on our end.

From your end, as it has been suggested, the less internet traffic you have running the better and a wired connection is more reliable than a wireless connection.

Can you provide us with the following information:

What version of Windows are you on?

What kind of Internet connection do you have (cable-modem, DSL, Satellite, etc)?

Are you on a wireless network?

                                What is your bandwidth?

Are you running a virus checker, firewall, or malware checker program (like Norton, McAfee, etc)? If so, which one?

What is the exact message that you got when you disconnected?

Do you have disconnection problems with other peer-to-peer applications like Skype or other chat programs?

Your account with your Internet Service Provider usually has a specified bandwidth.

You can also get an idea of your actual bandwidth at a site like this:

It's kinda of BS when I have the blinds just pass me and have the button and bam I'm suddenly moved to another table where I'm the big blind again.

a couple bugs... Clicking on the hand history in game does nothing...

Also, not sure this a bug (since you are using the same software) but you can't run SBR poker software at the same time as using WSEX poker room... Obviously a tough decision on that one

Disconnect problem prior, the last tourney (Tues) not one disconnect, i did hook up the laptop so was on a line instead of wireless and restarted before logging on. ran no other applications.

                                                            Yea I remember that.

Disconnects happen with online poker. Most of the time its the user's ISP(internet service provider). They tend to manage their bandwidth and it just takes one ISP to switch a router tha can cause a 1 second disconnect. You wouldnt notice except when you need a perfect connection like when you're playing poker. We will try to get our systems as perfect as possible so we are not causing any additional disconnects.

Also, not sure this a bug (since you are using the same software) but you can't run SBR poker software at the same time as using WSEX poker room... Obviously a tough decision on that one

Go here, and make sure you connect to the server in San Jose, Costa Rica. Once you do that PM the results to sbwilkinson and he can look at the results to see if there are any patterns with the people who are getting disconnected. Also even if you're not getting disconnected it will still be helpful to send the information we can have something to compare the results with.
