have you watched moss play this year? He was unhappy and gave up on the team. Nowhere near #1 receiver right now. That will change when he gets new contract for the Vikes. On the pats he would do nothing this year.

moss was traded to the patriots for a 4th round pick. They are trading a guy 4 years older and getting a 3rd round pick in return. Sounds like they did well. This is the NFL you don't get equal value in return.

Shows how much the Vikings need a deep threat receiver. I'm betting Rice doesn't play until late in the season and will not be the same. With a new contract extension and love from the Vikings fans, Moss will thrive on the Vikings.

I don't like it for the Pats. I was hoping they could trade moss and one of their 2nd round picks for sidney rice or something, but obviously that won't happen. They need SOME other WR...Although they did win superbowls with givens, brown, and patten before.

he isnt playing like a top 5 receiver but he isnt in top gear either.... there are reports that he got into a situation with Bill today so its hard to think he'll ever want to take it to that next gear seeing as he doesnt feel appreciated

haha yeah right. A better chance with a 1-2 soft NFC team that can't win at home, on the road, and has a grandfather QB with more picks than td's. Keep in mind Moss was literally minutes away from winning in 07. He won't even get another shot to play in February.

The NFC North is open with the Bears looking vulnerable now that everyone is remembering how to defeat the Martz offense and GB is not going to overcome these injuries. The Vikings are in fine shape except at WR where they are in desperate need of a premium WR.

Honestly, I guess I understand why the Pats would do this -- they don't want any "me" players messing up the locker room, ESPECIALLY with so many first- and second-year players on the team! Moss has been a leader, but he's handled his contract situation really poorly, especially with that wacky press conference after the Week 1 win. Too much stirring the pot.

BUT..... this would SUCK!!!!! Everyone's talking about how we don't need him cuz we got so many weapons... but HELLO, how open do you think all these weapons are gonna be without Randy drawing two guys away??!!!!!

This is just lke with Seymour and it sucks. I'm tired of looking down the road! This team can still win now! Brady's on top of his game and by the end of the year, this D will be up to middle-of-the-pack, which is all we need.

Definitely pissed about this... Don't think Brandon Tate is ready yet to be anywhere near Moss's level.

I agree Moss makes the Vikings better but it doesn't necessarily make the Pats worse. To get off topic just a sec, the sox got rid of nomar in 04 and replaced him with a group of nobodies and they won the world series. Were they a better team losing a potential hall of famer? **** no, but they clicked better. The Vikings def have an easier path but the packers are damn solid, and the bears have the luxury of waiting for Cutler to get healthy after a good start.

The Packers are nowhere near solid. Check their injury report. They just lost their starting Strong Safety (Morgan Burnett) for the season. Add that to a secondary that already lost their staring corner (Al Harris) and other starting safety (Atari Bigby) before the season even started. Added to losing their #1 RB (Ryan Grant) for the season, they are now starting a slow white FB (John Kuhn) as their featured running back. Are you seriously trying to tell me that they can make the playoffs if things continue in this direction? The only way the Packers make the playoffs is if they win the division, which will only happen if the Bears & Vikings hand it to them. Packers aren't getting to double digit wins this year. Take 4 or 5 (or more) starters off any team and see what happens.

essentially you just named the New England Patriots: bad/beat up defense, no running game, great qb. and you would have to agree the jets and fins are more competition than the bears and vikings, seeing as the fins already beat the vikings... and I'm not the only one to think the patriots will make the playoffs. In the nfl you need a good qb, and the packers have that. Safeties and corners are a dime a dozen; aside from revis, the champ bailey of old, and maybe ty law in his prime, there are NO corners that aren't replaceable. The packers win that division with ease, in my opinion. Let's keep this going, best debate I've had in a while
