Thursday is a light NBA night, I can e mail full tilt and set up a tourney at 7:15 or so and make it cheap 10+1 buy in or something. Something for fun for everyone. Besides I want to price JJGold in.

The idea doing it at bookmaker sounds the best to me. No doubt everyone has an account with them.

I contacted pokerstars and I can't set up private tourneys because in my lifetime I didn't have enough FPP points. Full tilt will allow me. I don't know what you have to do at bookmaker to set up a private tourney since I've never played poker there.

We tried putting together a regular poker tournament a couple of years back when SBR Forum first opened. At the time, we just didn't have the critical mass to make it an ongoing event. However, judging from the interest in this thread, it looks like it might be time to give it another go. Hang tight folks ... we'll see what we can put together in the next few days.

how many points do you need to set up a private tourney at pokerstars? I'm sure I'm qualified if you need someone to set one up there and that is where you want it to be... Personally I think fulltilt or pokerstars is a better choice then bookmaker as alot of people don't have money at a dozen sportsbooks and aren't going to make a deposit to play in a small tourney (me for example ) you can easily do small transfers on fulltilt and pokerstars which make it possible for those with money on only one or the other to play without having to make an additional deposit...

Herbie they told me you need to have accumulated 2000 lifetime. I've gotten 3 free sweat shirts out of them yet they tell me I've only accumulated 1400 or so. I'm sure each shirt is worth 1200 points or so.

If sean is going to set something up I'll wait and let SBR do it. That's kewl with me. I was just trying to get the ball rolling rather than sit around and wait for something to happen.

Will not be starting until next month, but should be a regular thing after that...

Also, I believe this was mentioned before, but a good method for advertising a site such as SBR is mentioning it at the poker tables. I am not sure how many people signed up because of me doing this, but I am sure there must be a few, and I imagine a lot of "lurkers". This works better if your playing poker at a sports-site such as BoDog, Skybook, Cris, etc...
