Zenyatta does it again - another big close for the win

She did not struggle to win it but I can see why you would think so.If you look at her eyes and ears it is quite clear that she only pushed herself 1/8 of a mile if that. She has multiple gears and is having fun doing this. Obviously a very smart horse.
As soon as she goes by even slightly, her ears start to prick . She is toying with these horses.
I am truly not popping off at the mouth and spewing a bunch of crap to argue but I trained a lot of horses for over 25 years and I promise you she is having a ball doing this.Honestly ,I am hard pressed to think of a horse that did this in such a calculating fashion.She is shockingly smart and professional and yes Reload , she does send chills up my spine.

Let's not forget, too, 1 1/16 mile isn't exactly her best distance. Congrats to Big Z on an amazing 19 for 19.

So you are saying she should go off around 4-1 this year?

when the gate opens she'll be 7/5, just my opinion, i would not take a free bet @10/1 on her,, like you stated before she has nothing to prove, she's got horse of the year now,, but if she has a poor showing (she will) in the cup, then the naysayers like andy beyer will write her obit as the polytrack wonder,, i hope she runs, i could use the money

Zenyatta will carry 123 in the Classic.The boys will carry 126.It is not an assigned weight handicap with various weights that in theory is designed to make all the horses equal , but a condition stakes race much like the Derby,Preakness,etc. Basically , it is a three pound sex allowance for her. Hope that helps.

I think there will be tremendous value against her on some of the other boys in the classic. She is the best female horse by far however

Regal Ransom went 24.1 and 47.9 at the first two calls in that race which isn't a crawl but certainly didn't help Zenyatta's cause with the "speed" going that slow. Plus she hated having Mine that Bird fooling around back there with her. You gotta figure there is going to be really fast fractions in this year's Classic because no one wants Quality Road to get the lead down the backstretch with soft fractions. I think the race sets up a lot better for Zenyatta, who almost had to split horses in 09. I just worry that Blame gets first jump and he has so much burst in the lane that she'll actually have to go all out to catch him.

That was on Pro Ride. If some of these go that slow up front, you can forget about catching up.

Early in all her races, she lags behind, the pace in front seem to make little difference. She starts to make her run going into the far turn, swings to the outside and looks like she'll never get there, but always does. For those old enough to remember grocery store games that involved a 30 minute faux TV racing show, where customers would get tickets for each race, the horse you had was always the one who was run down by a Zenyatta like horse.

Future wagers on her is 5/2 right now which i think is good she'll probaly be a huge public favorite come breeder time

You may get value, but the definition of that in this race is not easy to arrive at. In the BC races, value = personal wagering taste. For Zenyatta at the BC, some feel 2/1 is value. Still, I know some feel 6/5 is. I'd hate to be the m/l maker in this race. Along with doubles if they stay as good as they did last time out, I may place her in a keyed exacta with big bombs. . . about the only way I play exactas anymore. They're going to need to well exceed the win odds-related divisible math.

Just me two cents, but I don't think she goes off 7-5 with the other expected horses to run. 2-1, maybe 5-2.
