Latest development around GoldVictory:
According to widespread reports in the Malta mainstream media, a Greek national working on the island of Malta as an executive with online sportsbook and casino company Gold Victory Limited was arrested over the weekend on allegations of misappropriation of €500,000 from customer accounts.
In a bail hearing Dimitros Drosos (42) pleaded not guilty to misappropriating the funds from Gold Victory, a company which is registered in Malta and operates the Gold Victory website.
Police decided to first investigate and then prosecute Drosus after being asked to intervene in the case by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta - the regulating authority for online gambling.
Drosos was granted bail by Magistrate Edwina Grima against a deposit of €70,000 and a personal guarantee of €5,000. The court also ordered that all his assets should be frozen.
One report is that Drosos was not immediately able to meet the bail requirements and was therefore held in custody, but was later moved to a local hospital for medical reasons.
Drosos is charged both personally and as company director and legal representative of the gaming company and was defended by Dr Stefano Filletti.
The criminal investigation is being led by Inspector Ivan Cilia of the Malta police.
Gold Victory is a sportsbook and casino using Arland Technologies software licensed in Malta.

Greek man charged for fraud

Dimitrios Drosos was on Saturday charged in court accused of fraud, misappropriation at the detriment of several persons and of breaking the Lotteries and Games Act. The frauds occurred on the 15th May 2009 and in previous months. The 42-year-old is a Greek national residing in San Gwann
The man pleaded not guilty to the accusations brought against him, He was granted bail against a €70,000 deposit and a personal guarantee of €5,000. However the man failed to deposit the money. The court ordered freezing of all the man’s assets and also instructed the Director of the Corradino Correctional Facilities to keep the man at the Mater Dei Hospital for health reasons.
Prosecution was led by Inspector Ivan Cilia.

A certified copy is not just a scan of the passport, it's where the copy of the passport you're sending has been notarised by a lawyer (or person of similar standing) to say that the copy is indeed true. It's a bit like when you get your doctor or bank manager to certify your photographs for the actual passport as it gives the images credibility as being true. There may be other methods of getting your passport certified, perhaps at your local postal office if they have some sort of service for that.Comment -

Yes, I nowhere else saw this pig-sized cats which can be found there...
Also, I was in an expensive well known hotel there (4+ stars), and once I saw a cat coming inside...some manager brought the cat some milk and food (!), and just put it gently outside after the cat ate it...was a funny thing to see.
They also have a few nice historical buildings (burial places of templars, etc...), and a lot of sh..tty bookmakers there...Comment -

The Authorities investigation findings were transferred to the Malta Executive Police who have also concluded their investigation which has resulted in court proceedings.
Presently the Authority awaits the Malta Law Courts to conclude said proceedings which will be made public and you will be notified accordingly.
