    Are the Braves dead?
The Braves have been on a downward spiral lately and it hasn't been pretty. They've dropped series to the Pirates and Nationals and can't seem to muster up any runs lately. So are they done?

Luckily they have 6 games left with the Phillies, which gives them a chance to get back in the division race. They are holding on for dear life in the wild card race, but with two teams on their tail.

Yes they are dead. 55% chance to make wildcard. SD-COL.-AND SF could knock each other out. One wins west- the other two? Phils and Atlanta cannot meet in the first round as I understand it.

Braves have nothing left in the tank. Their offense has definitely shown it's true colors recently. Runs are now hard to come by. Meanwhile, the Phils have been red hot. They own the month of September...and this year, their rotation is soo dirty. Love it!

If they can't beat the Nationals at home then they are probably done for. Shame though.

The Braves just faded down the stretch. A sign of no leadership.

The problem with the Braves is that they have no heart whatsoever. The most recent example being this latest series with the Nats. Throw in the clunker on Sunday night baseball when they let "Gas Can" Loshe mow them down and the picture becomes clearer. BTW, that same Card team that went to Atlanta and came awway with a spilt, got swept at home vs the lowly Cubs.

Unfortunately they look dead, but so did SF and Col a couple of weeks ago and San Diego had things rapped up in the NL West not too long ago. All it takes is a sweep of the Mets this weekend and they can go into Philly Monday on a 3 game winning streak down 2 or 3 games to the Phils and see what happens. They look dead, but so have so many teams that fate changed suddenly.

It sure seems like it, but need I remind everyone they played worse than this early in the season. They went through a few stretches this season where they just couldn't manage any offense. And then they'd explode for a few weeks at a time. If they have another one of those explosions in them then I'd say they could be still be dangerous. And Hudson, Hanson, JJ when they are on is as good a 3 man rotation as anyone's. It's at least a viable playoff rotation...when they are all on. Derek Lowe pitched one of the best games of his career last time out too.

They'll grab the wild card as the division seems out of reach without a sweep of the Mets this weekend.

Braves own the Mets unlike the Phillies but, the Phils arent going to lose enough with the best 3 man rotation in the league to be able to catch them

Guy's a pretty poor game manager though, this collapse has a lot to do with him. Great person (besides beating his wife of course) and a real good players manager, I won't miss him.

Just read about this. It was an incident that happened 14 yrs ago. Not that beating a woman is acceptable, but the truth is we don't know what happened. It doesn't seem to be the man he is and there is not much artices to support this, most likely it was nothing more than just a domestic dispute. Either way no charges were ever filed and it has never came up again.
