she is Chinese but her family owns the Super Belen store in Belen Costa Rica, she speaks great Spanish whereas mine is iffy at best, Thus why I brought my taxi guy into the store to translate in Spanish as to why I was returning.

I kinda got him on retainer you can say. He is a pirate taxi guy and I give him $ for trips to work etc but also when he needs it ahead of time and then works it off by driving me. His baby was sick and needed some medicine yesterday do I gave him $40 and he was so very thankful. He said it was his pleasure to help me out. I love Costa Rica for little things like that. People are real nice.

Though this matter's already settled, I'll bring up a couple points from a purely self-serving perspective:
(1) Would the money you could spend with the difference you were unfairly given make up for any shame you feel in "stealing"? Does spending the money on something else or returning the money "buy" you more happiness? Also consider that you may regret the action years later, such as not being able to say you never stole anything, or perhaps anything of decent value.
(2) Let's say it was a particularly large amount of money, or that you were brought up with a shitty moral compass and you figured it's better to keep the money to please yourself, at least in the short run; could the positive reinforcement you received for stealing lead to behavior that'll hurt you more in the long-run? "What if I steal again? I've done it before and it wasn't so bad." "How about I up the ante this time?" Also, let's say you figure you can steal a lot of money with a low chance of getting caught, but maybe the repercussions last years if you do.
