Actually Doug, I think I'm right, depending on the karatage so will vary the percentage of gold on it. I'm pretty sure it's much more than 58%, even around the 90's

24k is pure. Gold is too soft , so usually alloyed with copper.

14 parts of Gold to 10 parts of whatever is 14/24 or 58.5 %

          18k is 75%

          etc

Anybody that has ever handled much gold can instantly tell if it is real just because it feels so unnaturally heavy, even lead doesn't come close. Platinum is much heavier but more expensive than Gold.

There is no way ( I know of) to fake the weight than comes with something made of Gold. 14k is the most common for jewelry, then 18k. 10k is rarely encountered, or above 18k.

I don't get why one would want white gold, making it look more like Silver for little reason....just buy Silver if you want it white !

This place wants $3,000 for it. 6mm is the same as 1/4".

The chain, 1/4" * 30" would probably be weighing around 150 minimum, 14 karats white gold per gram here in CR cost you around 15 bucks and therefore that makes it a total of $2250, since you guys get gold much more expensive than what we get it down here my guess is that per gram it'll add a couple bucks at least, making the grand total $2550

That makes sense. This store has it on sale for 3K which makes sense for a 15-20% profit.
